FIRST HALF
The Marlins struck rather early finding their first goal of the match in the fourth minute on a corner kick shot turned goal off the foot of
Alexis Miller. Virginia Wesleyan controlled possession of the ball throughout the first half taking 13 shots while holding Guilford to zero as neither team managed to find the back of the net the remainder of the first half.
SECOND HALF
The teams came out of the halftime break eager to find a score. For the Quakers they were looking for an equalizer, while the Marlins wanted some insurance with a second goal. Neither team managed to score in the second half as Virginia Wesleyan held on to win the match 1-0. VWU took 22 second half shots while GC got off six.
