Randolph-Macon Unbeaten in ODAC Regular Season for Second Straight Year

FOREST, Va. --- Randolph-Macon College ran thru the conference regular season unbeaten for the second straight year, dropping just five sets on the way to securing the top seed in next week's ODAC Volleyball Tournament.  The Yellow Jackets will be one of four teams to host quarterfinal matches slated for Wednesday.

Tournament Bracket

The top four seeds were clearly defined without tiebreakers. Washington and Lee University enters the eight-team field as the second seed, while Lynchburg College will play out of the third position. Bridgewater College rounds out the quarterfinal hosts as the fourth seed.

Positions five thru seven required head-to-head tiebreakers to sift out the pairings from a three-way tie at 6-5 in the conference standings. Guilford College topped Emory & Henry College on Saturday to put itself into position with the Wasps and Virginia Wesleyan College. In matches amongst the three teams, the Quakers were unscathed, which awards them the fifth seed. Despite its loss to Guilford, E&H will play as the sixth seed as the Wasps defeated the Marlins in their regular season matchup.  Virginia Wesleyan will be slotted seventh in the field.  Roanoke College rounds out the tournament pairings as the eighth seed.

Quarterfinal play begins Wednesday, November 2, at times to be determined. The semifinals and championship will be hosted by the highest remaining seed following the quarterfinals. Those matches are slated for Friday and Saturday, November 4-5.
