Interviews with RC's Dunagan and GC's Palombo
It's going to be a busy weekend in ODAC athletics as several of
the league's schools enter into first and/or second round action of
their respective NCAA Division III Tournaments. Men's and
women's basketball also jumps into action on Sunday, providing Brad
and J.J. with plenty of topics to speak about in this edition of
the ODAC Podcast. Interviews this week are with Roanoke
women's basketball coach, Susan Dunagan, and Guilford men's
basketball mentor, Tom Palombo.
Lynchburg has already found success in the NCAA tournament as the
Hornets field hockey program posted a 5-3 win in its first round
matchup against Juniata College. LC travels to Pennsylvania
to square off with Ursinus College on Saturday in the second
round. Lynchburg also has both of its soccer teams in action
this weekend. Virginia Wesleyan joins LC in the men's field,
while the Marlins and Washington and Lee accompany the Hornets in
the women's event. In volleyball, Randolph-Macon made its
trip to Southwestern University for regional play on
Thursday.
In men's basketball, Guilford College collected 10 first place
votes and 119 total points to earn the top slot in the 2009 ODAC
Men's Basketball Preseason Poll. Virginia Wesleyan College
and Randolph-Macon College tied for second with 103 total
tallies. The Marlins also received the remaining first place
vote.
Roanoke College picked up 10 first place votes and 120 total poll
points to earn the top billing in the 2009-10 ODAC Women's
Basketball Preseason Poll. Randolph-Macon College garnered
the remaining first place vote and 109 tallies to hold down the
second slot. Eastern Mennonite was third with 82 poll
points.
