ODAC Players of the Week

INDOOR TRACK
Randy Lott, Virginia Wesleyan,
Jr.
Lott, a junior from Virginia Beach,
Va., set the Virginia Wesleyan College record in the 60-meter dash
as he became the first Marlin to eclipse the 7.00-second barrier.
He was the first NCAA Division III finisher and fourth overall in
the event at the Liberty Open, posting an ODAC-seasonal top time of
6.98 seconds. That is currently tied for 14th in the country. Lott
also placed fourth in the 200-meter dash in 23.19, just 0.03 short
of his conference-leading time.

INDOOR TRACK
Jillian Katterhagen, Washington and Lee,
So.
Katterhagen, a sophomore from The
Woodlands, Texas., was one of six event winners for the Generals as
they won the Denison Lid-Lifter with 163 points over host school
Denison University. Katterhagen won the pole vault competition and
set a new Washington and Lee record by clearing 3.36 meters (11'
00.25"), which eclipsed the record of 11-feet set by Liz Brandler
in 2005. The mark is tops in the South/Southeast Region so far this
season, let alone in the ODAC. Katterhagen also finished third in
the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.80 seconds, good for the
third-best mark in the conference listings.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Colton Hunt, Randolph, Sr.,
Guard
Hunt, a senior from Whittier, N.C.,
earns his fourth weekly award of the season after helping the
WildCats to a 2-1 record and averaging 30.3 points per game last
week. The ODAC's leading scorer (26.2 ppg) enters this week ranked
second in the country, a mark that was aided by a pair of 30-plus
point efforts for Randolph. He opened with a career-high tying 36
markers on 13-of-26 shooting in an 80-63 win at William Peace. He
added six rebounds, four assists and three steals. During the
midweek, Hunt poured in 33 points as he made 14-of-16 free throws
in a 79-63 loss to Hampden-Sydney. He chipped in nine rebounds,
four assists and three more takeaways against the Tigers. Hunt
capped his week with 22 points on 8-of-17 shooting in a 65-50 win
at Shenandoah. He was 4-of-6 from three-point range, and added five
boards, two assists and a steal against the Hornets.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Morgan King, Guilford, Jr.,
Forward
King, a junior from Teachey, N.C.,
helped Guilford to a pair of conference wins over the past week as
the Quakers topped Emory & Henry College (73-58) and Virginia
Wesleyan College (58-49) to push their winning streak to eight
straight games. King shot 69.6-percent from the floor on the way to
averaging 18 points over the two wins. She also averaged 8.5
rebounds and 2.0 blocked shots. During the midweek, King matched a
career-high with 22 points on 10-of-14 shooting against the Wasps.
The 10 field goals is a personal-best. She also added seven
rebounds. Over the weekend, King notched 14 points and 10 rebounds
for her third double-double of the season. She also notched four
blocked shots, which contributed to the Quakers' school record 11
for the game. The four rejections move her into fourth in the GC
record books (96).

SWIMMING
Payton Shirey, Emory & Henry,
Freshman
Shirey, a freshman from Seaford, Del.,
picks up her second weekly award of the season as she rattled off
three individual event victories and helped the Wasps to a relay
win as Emory & Henry won a quad meet against Warren Wilson,
Lagrange and Greensboro. Shirey claimed top prize in the 50-yard
freestyle in 25.00, and followed that with a 56.74 time to win the
100-yard freestyle. Her third win came in the 50-yard butterfly via
a time of 27.84. Shirey swam the lead leg of the E&H's 200-yard
freestyle relay team that chimed in at 1:47.02. The Wasps finish
the regular season with a 9-1 overall dual meet record and a 5-1
mark against ODAC teams.
