MEN'S BASKETBALL
Andrew Thorne, Eastern Mennonite, Sr.,
Wing
Thorne, a senior from Front Royal,
Va., helped Eastern Mennonite to a pair of wins with back-to-back
25-point outings as the Royals moved to 4-0 on the season. Thorne
was 7-of-14 from the field and 10-of-12 from the four line to
account for 25 points in addition to 12 rebounds in a 101-79 win
over Frostburg State. He also chipped in three assists and a pair
of steals. Thorne then poured in 11-of-14 field goals, including a
pair of three-points, for his second straight quarter-century
scoring output in an 83-72 triumph over Marymount (Va.). He added
eight boards, two assists and a steal in that contest. So far this
year, Thorne is tops in the ODAC in rebounding at 9.0 boards per
game, and is fourth in scoring at 19.0 points per game.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Sarah Seipp, Virginia Wesleyan, So.,
Guard
Seipp, a sophomore from Gaithersburg,
Md., helped the Marlins to a 2-1 week that included wins over
Salisbury University and Greensboro College. The 2012 ODAC Rookie
of the Year started her week with a 25-point explosion in VWC's
73-55 triumph over Salisbury. She made a pair of three-pointers and
hit 9-of-12 from the foul line along the way. She also pulled down
nine boards and came away with two steals. Seipp later tallied 12
points and six steals in a 77-68 loss to Methodist. She finished
the week with 10 points and six boards to go along with three more
steals in a 63-59 win over Greensboro. For the week, Seipp averaged
15.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.7 steals. She is currently first in
the ODAC with 15 steals and sixth in scoring at 15.0 points per
game.
