ASHLAND, Va. - Sophomore Daryn Carter (Dover, Pa./Dover Area) scored her second goal in as many games but the Goucher College field hockey team fell 7-1 on the road at Randolph-Macon College Saturday afternoon.
- Randolph-Macon (2-4) got on the board just 1:24 into the game when it knocked home a miss of an initial shot that was saved by Goucher (1-3) goalie Julia Foster (Pylesville, Md./North Harford).
- The Yellow Jackets made it 2-0 in the seventh minute.
- The hosts had all three shots in the first quarter.
- Foster made two saves in the first minute of the second.
- R-MC upped its lead to 3-0 at the 17:27 mark off a penalty corner.
- Raegan Williams made it 4-0 with just under five minutes left in the first half.
- 4:41 into the second half R-MC made it 5-0.
- Amita Chatterjee (Silver Spring, Md./Wheaton) had a shot blocked with 6:19 elapsed in the period.
- Goucher relief goalie Carla Caballero (Dallas, Texas/Greenhill School) made four saves in a minute span with five minutes left.
- Macy Motovidlak (Wittman, Md./St. Michael's) put a shot on goal for Goucher in the first minute of the fourth.
- Carter struck following a penalty corner in the 53rd minute to make it 5-1.
- Randolph-Macon tacked on two goals in the 55th and 59th minutes to account for the final.
- The Yellow Jackets held a 29-4 shot advantage and took 13 of the game's 17 penalty corners.
- Foster made three saves in the game's first 21:23 before being relieved by Caballero, who made 14 saves the rest of the way.
- Goucher travels to Eastern Mennonite on Wednesday for a 7:00 pm contest.
