Brian Jordan, Randolph-Macon, Senior, Outfielder

Jordan, a senior from Columbia, Va., finished 5-for-8 with three RBI, a double, and three runs in the Yellow Jackets ODAC opener against Eastern Mennonite. Jordan picked up the game winning hit in the night cap of R-MC’s double-header with EMU, singling in Zach Broaddus with two outs in the bottom of the 10th to lead Randolph-Macon to the win.  He also a walked twice in the second game, giving him a .700 on-base percentage for the weekend.

Baseball Player Honor Roll

Kent Peterson, Guilford, Junior, Infielder
Peterson went 5-for-8 in Guilford’s doubleheader split with Lynchburg, the Quakers’ lone action of the week.  He plated the game-winning RBI with a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the 12th inning of Guilford’s 3-2 win, the Quakers’ first over the Hornets since 2006.  He went 2-4 with a walk and an RBI in the opener.  Peterson had a game-high three hits in the nightcap, his sixth multi-hit game of the season.  He has hit safely in 10 of Guilford’s 12 games to date.

Michael Del Buono, Lynchburg, Junior, Infielder
Del Buono knocked in two homeruns over the weekend against Guilford College. In the first game of the doubleheader, he singled in an RBI and hit one of his homers for the only two LC runs in the game. During the second game, he had another solo homerun in the eighth inning to seal a 4-2 Lynchburg victory.
