Parsons, a junior from Lynchburg, Va., smacked six hits in his first eight at bats to lead LC to an early season sweep of Averett. In a 17-4 season-opening triumph, Parsons went 5-for-5, setting career-highs in hits and with five runs scored. He belted a pair of doubles and drove in three runs while also drawing a walk. In a much tighter second game, Parsons went 1-for-3 as he came around to score the winning run in a 3-2 victory over the Cougars.

Kyle Armstrong, Eastern Mennonite (Jr., OF/P -
Greenville, Pa.)
Armstrong went 3-for-7 in a two game split with N.C.
Wesleyan. He collected a pair of hits and drove in the first
run in EMU's season-opening 2-1 win. He collected another and
scored a run in a 4-3 loss in game two.
Michael Whited, Guilford (Sr. - Greensboro, N.C.)
Whited is 8-for-19 thru the Quakers first five
games, which has them at 2-3 in the early season. Whited had
a hit in all but one game, including a 4-for-5 day in which he
smacked his first collegiate homer and drove in two runs towards an
11-0 win over D-II Bluefield State. He had two hits including
a homer and five RBI in a 10-9 win over Berry on the weekend.
Drew Weprinsky, Washington and Lee (Jr., OF - Atlanta,
Ga.)
Weprinsky extended his hitting streak to 30 games on
Sunday after totaling four hits in seven at bats in a doubleheader
split at Greensboro. He went 1-for-4 in a 2-1 loss in the opener,
and then finished 3-for-3 with two runs and a walk to help lead the
Generals to a 7-4 victory in game two.
