Plein, a senior from El Cajon, Calif., appeared in three games this past week, earning a win and a save in nine innings pitched. He opened the week with a scoreless inning with a strike out to save a 5-2 win over N.C. Wesleyan. After pitching an inning of relief in a 5-4 loss to Averett, Plein was nearly perfect in defeating Maine-Presque Isle, 12-0. He went the distance in the first game of a pair of seven-inning contests (doubleheader), giving up just one hit without a walk and striking out three batters. The shutout is the first of his collegiate career and improves his season record to 2-0 with a save in 11.2 innings of work.

Jordan Showalter, Bridgewater (Fr. - Bridgewater.,
Va.)
Showalter gave up one unearned run on two hits in
seven innings to earn the win in a 4-3 triumph over Juniata.
He walked one and struck out a pair in his first collegiate
win.
Aaron Sparks, Emory & Henry (Jr. - Troutman,
N.C.)
Sparks went the distance in the first game of a
doubleheader split with Tennessee Temple. In seven innings of
work, Sparks gave up two runs, one earned, on eight hits with six
punchouts. He did not walk a batter in the Wasps' 4-2
win.
Zac Patrick, Lynchburg (Sr. - Midlothian, Pa.)
Patrick threw nine full innings for the first
complete game victory of his career in an 8-1 win over York (Pa.).
He gave up one unearned run on four hits while walking four
and striking out a career-high seven batters. His 2014 ERA
lowered to 0.60.
Jamie Hendrick, Randolph-Macon (Sr. - Chesterfield,
Va.)
Hendrick gave up four runs on seven hits in five
innings of work to help the Yellow Jackets to a 14-11 win at
Christopher Newport. He walked one and fanned five.
Dylan Stoskus, Virginia Wesleyan (Jr. - Ashburn,
Va.)
Stoskus tossed eight shutout innings to earn his
first win of the year in a 4-0 victory over Rutgers-Newark.
He gave up four hits and walked three batters while striking
out nine batters for the second time this season.
