Jacob Pilarski, Virginia Wesleyan, So., Pitcher

Pilarski, a sophomore from Pittsburgh, Pa., made better than good in his first start of the season as he racked up his second win of the year with a complete-game seven-inning effort in the first of two games for Virginia Wesleyan on Friday, February 23. Pilarski helped the Marlins blank Brockport State, 10-0, with seven shutout frames. He allowed just one hit and walked a pair of batters while fanning eight. Pilarski sat down the first seven batters he faced including striking out the side in the second inning.

Andrew Berry, BC: gave up just one hit in five innings, walking two and fanning seven to earn his first win of the season in a 3-0 decision over Juniata. 

Ryan Brewer, EMU: made three appearances last week, picking up back-to-back saves in both games against Juniata (4-2, 4-2) before working 3.2 innings and taking the loss against PSU-Altoona (6-4).

Gavin Felty, E&H: gave up two runs (one earned) on five hits with two walks and 11 punchouts in a full seven inning complete game to win gave one (3-2) of a double-header sweep of Mt. Aloysius. The 11 Ks are the most by an E&H pitcher since Jessup Lambert fanned 12 in 2013.

Trevor Denton, GC: twirled seven innings to get the win in a 7-1 decision over Elmire (N.Y.). Gave up one unearned run on five hits while walking two and fanning four.

Jimmy Butler, H-SC: fired six innings of shutout ball in a 4-1 win over Stevenson. Gave up five hits and walked two with a pair of strikeouts.

Jason Wood, LC: worked 4.1 shutout innings to get the win in an 18-1 thumping of Mt. St. Vincent. Gave up three hits and didn't walk a batter while fanning seven.

Colin Selby, R-MC: fired six shutout frames and allowed just one hit with one walk in a 10-0 whitewashing of Alvernia. He struck out eight to increase his total to 18 strikeouts in 11 innings this season.

Cam Eck, RC: worked 2.2 innings to get the win, 3-1, over top-ranked Cortland. He walked one and struck out one.

Cole DuBois, SU: made three appearances out of the pen with one win and a save. Worked one inning, giving up a hit, to get a 1-0 win over Lancaster Bible. Went a third of an inning in a 5-4 loss to Misericordia, then came in for a two-inning save in an 8-4 win over Widener. Gave up one hit and walked one with a strikeout.
