Synapse Sports Tabs LC Senior for Honor

ANNAPOLIS, Md. --- On Tuesday, Synapse Sports named Lynchburg College field hockey junior Lindsay Leonard Division III Player of the Week.  Synapse Sports is a national website that covers field hockey, women's and men's lacrosse for Divisions I, II, and III.

Leonard scored four goals and three assists in three games last week including a goal in the 2-1 win over first-ranked Messiah College. She also assisted on the game-winning goal in the upset victory.  Along with a goal in the victory over Stevenson University, Leonard scored twice and chipped in two assists in the 10-0 win over St. Mary's College.

The honor from Synapse Sports is another accolade for Leonard this season.  Leonard already earned ODAC Player of the Week recognition on September 19 and September 6.  For the season, Leonard has a team-leading nine goals and 23 points.  She has also added five assists and one game-winning goal.

LC field hockey (6-1 overall, 0-0 ODAC), ranked 6th nationally, begins conference play on Saturday with a home game against Randolph-Macon College at 1 p.m. as a part of Parents and Family Weekend.
