INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Fresh off winning its first ODAC field hockey championship, Bridgewater College has learned its opponent in the program's first appearance in the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Tournament.  The Eagles will travel to Catholic University for first round competition on Wednesday.

The NCAA bracket is complete with 24 teams set to compete on the national stage.  Sixteen teams will be competing in eight first round matchups, with another eight teams receiving byes into the round of 16.  First round winners will square off with one of those squads over the weekend.

Bridgewater (12-8) is one of 19 teams to punch their tickets via automatic qualification after winning their conference tournaments.  The Eagles earned the ODAC's bid after topping Washington and Lee University, 1-0, on Saturday.  Catholic earned its bid after winning the Landmark Conference title after defeating Elizabethtown College, 2-1.  Just one squad, Rhodes College, picked up a Pool B bid.  Pool B is reserved for those institutions that either do not play in a conference or the conference they play in does not qualify for an automatic entry.  Four other squads picked up at-large bids out of Pool C to complete the field.

The first three rounds in the tournament will be hosted at various campuses across the country.  Washington and Lee University will serve as the host for the national semifinal and championship games.  Those contests are set for November 21-22 in Lexington, Va.
