Pricone, a junior from Arlington, Va., opened the season by scoring Randolph-Macon's first seven goals of the season to lead the Yellow Jackets to a 1-1 weekend. At York (Pa.), She notched all five goals in a 5-4 triumph over the Spartans. Down 4-2 in the second half, Pricone rattled off a trio of scores in a little over seven minutes, notching her clinching tally three minutes from time. In a 4-3 double-overtime loss to McDaniel, Pricone twice knotted the score in regulation before R-MC fell in the 87th minute of play. Pricone currently leads the young ODAC scoring charts in points (14) and goals scored (7).
Field Hockey Honor Roll
Caroline Augsburger,
Bridgewater (Jr., M, Lancaster, Pa.)
Augsburger helped lead the Eagles to a 2-0 opening weekend.
Augsburger netted two goals and dished out two assists in the
Eagles’ 6-0 season-opening victory over Transylvania. The
2012 All-ODAC First Team honoree played a part in each of the first
four goals of the game. In the weekend finale against Sewanee,
Augsburger scored Bridgewater’s third goal and later dished
out an assist on the final goal of the day, a Sarah Rozell
tally.
Katie Kline, Lynchburg (Jr., Attack,
Stafford, Va.)
Kline scored a pair of goals Saturday as the 13th-ranked
Hornets defeated Wittenberg 3-0.
Fluer Moorlag,
Roanoke (Fr., Attack, Netherlands)
Roanoke opened the season 1-0 after defeating Goucher for the
first time ever, 2-0. Moorlag scored the opening goal of the
contest.
Ashley Cross,
Shenandoah (Jr., Attack, Agawam, Mass.)
Cross notched the opening tally in a 7-0 victory over Wilson to
begin the Hornets' season.
Asiah Allen, Virginia
Wesleyan (Fr., Attack, St. Louis, Mo.)
Allen produced the assist that led to the game-winning goal
in a 2-1 overtime win against Stevenson University and then scored
the goal that put Virginia Wesleyan ahead 3-2 in an eventual 4-2
win over Neumann. VWC is 2-0 for the first time since
2003.
Noelani Schulmeyer, Washington
and Lee (Fr., D, Glen Arm, Md.)
Schulmeyer helped lead the Generals' field hockey team
to a 1-1 record in their opening weekend. Against Johns Hopkins,
Schulmeyer notched a defensive save, and then she tallied the first
two goals of her collegiate career in the 4-2 victory over
Goucher.
