  • GC's Ratner Finishes 12th at NCAA Men's Golf Championships
    May 17, 2013
    Noah Ratner wrapped up his brilliant Guilford College career Friday with a 12-place finish at the NCAA Division III Golf Championships at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. Ratner shot a two-over-par 73 in his final college round to finish with a four-round score of 293.
  • HU's Cheng Finishes 12th at NCAA Women's Golf Championships

    Friday marked the final round of the 2013 NCAA DIII Golf National Championships. Elizabeth Cheng (Virginia Beach, VA) represented herself, Hollins and the ODAC very well with a 12th place finish in the four day event after posting a total of 314. The four day event was held on the Baytowne Golf Club at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, Fla.
  • Ratner Rallies to Make Cut, Team Fall Shorts at NCAA Championships

    Gulford College shot 305 on Wednesday afternoon in the second round of the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships. Combined with their first round total of 307, the Quakers ranked 17th out of 41 teams, missing the 15-team cut line. Noah Ratner won a five-man playoff for the final individual spot heading into the weekend.
  • Guilford Enters NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Tournament

    Guilford College will represent the ODAC in the NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Tournament, which is set for May 14-17 at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, Fla. The Quakers, winners of the 2002 and 2005 national crowns, earned their spot in the 41-team field via the conference’s automatic qualifier after winning the 2013 ODAC Men’s Golf Championship at Bay Creek Resort & Club two weeks ago.
  • Hollins’ Cheng Selected to NCAA Women’s Golf Tournament

    Hollins University junior Elizabeth Cheng will represent HU and the ODAC in the 2013 NCAA Division III Women’s Golf Tournament, which is set for May 14-17 at the Baytowne Golf Course at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, Fla. Cheng is the second Hollins golfer to qualify for the national tournament in the last five years, joining Vicky Kasza in 2008.
  • HU's Cheng Highlights First ODAC Women's Golf Awards

    Hollins junior Elizabeth Cheng took home two major to highlight the first ODAC Women's Golf All-Conference Awards. Cheng was named the inaugural ODAC Player of the Year and the ODAC/Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Randolph-Macon mentor Leighann Albaugh was tabbed the ODAC Coach of the Year, and Yellow Jacket newcomer Olivia Bowling received ODAC Rookie of the Year laurels.
  • Quakers Win Third Straight ODAC Men's Golf Crown

    Guilford College posted a tournament-best 289 team total on Tuesday afternoon on the Palmer Course at Bay Creek Resort & Club, completing a wire-to-wire victory to claim its third straight and record 13th ODAC men's golf title. Quakers' senior Noah Ratner rebounded from an 81 in round two with a two-under 70 to claim his first ODAC medalist honor by five strokes.
  • Randolph-Macon Wins Inaugural ODAC Women's Golf Title

    Randolph-Macon shot the low-team round of the tournament on Tuesday on the Palmer Course at Bay Creek Resort & Club, carding a 349 to take over the top spot and win the inaugural ODAC Women's Golf Championship by 10 strokes over Hollins, 719-729. Yellow Jackets freshman Olivia Bowling claimed individual medalist honors with a final round 79, the only sub-80 round of the tournament.

  • Guilford's Ratner is ODAC Men's Golfer of the Year for Third Time

    Guilford senior Noah Ratner was named the ODAC Golfer of the Year for a third consecutive time at an awards ceremony in conjunction with the ODAC Golf Championships at Bay Creek Resort and Club on Monday evening. Fellow Quakers Corey Maggard and Nick Shedd were also honored as Maggard secured his third straight Jack Jensen Coach of the Year honor and Shedd was tabbed the ODAC/Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete. Hampden-Sydney's Thomas Cole earned ODAC Rookie of the Year accolades, while Shenandoah Zach Ramey received the Ted Keller Sportsmanship Award.
  • H-SC Makes Move, Two Back of GC Following Second Round

    H-SC made up all but two strokes of the 15-shot deficit it faced by Sunday's end, but GC remains in the lead after the second round of the 2013 ODAC Men's Golf Championships. Weather effected the play from all teams on day two, which saw the Quakers post a round of 320 and the Tigers pull to within two after four Tigers posted scores of sub-80 towards a 307, including Sean Gatz (pictured).
  • Hollins Leads After First Round of ODAC Women's Golf Championships

    Hollins University owns a one stroke advantage over Randolph-Macon College after the first round of the inaugural ODAC Women's Golf Championship at Bay Creek Resort & Club in Cape Charles, Va. HU posted a 369, while the Yellow Jackets chimed in at 370 following a rain-soaked day on the 5,801-yard par 73 custom layout on the Palmer Course. Washington and Lee University is third at 402.
  • Guilford Leads After Round One of Men's Golf Championship

    Guilford College shot a 17-over par 305 to open up an 11-shot lead after the first round of the 2013 ODAC Men's Golf Championship. Senior Noah Ratner was one of four Quakers to shoot 79 or better as the reigning two-time ODAC Player of the Year shot an individual-best one-over 73 on the Palmer Course at Bay Creek Resort & Lodge in Cape Charles, Va.
  • Previewing the 2013 ODAC Golf Tournaments

    The ODAC golf postseason is returning to Bay Creek Resort and Lodge for the fifth consecutive year, but this season’s event welcomes a first for the conference and its member schools. The 2013 league campaign comes to a close with a pair of championships as the ODAC Men’s Golf Tournament, in its 37th year of competition, will be joined by the inaugural ODAC Women’s Golf Tournament in Cape Charles, Va.

  • Guilford's Ratner Top NCAA Division III Participant at Patriot Invitational

    Guilford College senior golfer Noah Ratner tied for 21st place and was the top NCAA Division III participant at the 2012 Patriot Invitational. The tournament was created in 2011 to recognize top college golfers from all divisions and honor fallen U.S. military servicemen and servicewomen. Ratner placed 66th in last year's inaugural event.
