Townsend, a sophomore from Greenville, S.C., helped lead Washington and Lee to a tie for fifth out of 14 teams at the Callaway Gardens Collegiate on Saturday by tying for medalist honors. The event was shortened by one round due to inclement weather. Townsend carded a +2 score of 75 to tie with Bailey Plourde of Centre for first-place out of 88 golfers. She birdied the 18th hole to move into a tie for first. For the season, Townsend has played five rounds and she has recorded a 76.8 scoring average.
