Emily Brubaker, Lynchburg, Fy.

Brubaker, a first-year from Raleigh, N.C., picked up her first collegiate medal last week at the JWU Spring Invitational hosted by Johnson & Wales University. Lynchburg won the team title in the event, which was shortened to one round due to inclement weather. Lynchburg fired a 343 team round, out-pacing Southern Virginia University by eight strokes a week after the Knight bested the Hornets. Brubaker, in just her third collegiate round, collected her second top-five showing, this time winning the event with an 8-over 79 on the par-71 track set to 5,722 yards at the Emerald Lake Golf Club in Matthews, N.C. She previously finished fifth at last week's Hill City Invitational hosted by Lynchburg. Brubaker's 79 makes her the fourth player to shoot a sub-80 round in the program's short history.
