Brian Polinchok, Hampden-Sydney, Fy.

Polinchok, a first-year from Moseley, Va., spearheaded the Tigers' efforts by finishing as the runner-up at their own event, the Tiger Spring Tournament. Polinchok carded an even-par 144 leaving him just one stroke shy of medalist Michael Clardy from Piedmont University following two rounds on the par 72 layout set to 6,643 yards at The Manor Golf Club in Farmville, Va. This the second time Polinchok has finished among the top-five in the six tournaments he has played. He previously tied for third at the Piedmont Fall Invitational in early October. He opened play with a 2-over 74 before regrouping to post a 2-under 70 over the final 18 holes, which marked the second-best round of the tournament behind the 4-under 68 posted by Longwood University's Payo Larrain in round two. Polinchok led one of two five-team squads from Hampden-Sydney to first place in the team standings. The Tigers' "B" unit finished at 36-over 612 (304-308). Polinchok owns a 78.5 scoring average over 11 rounds played.
