  • Duo Repeats as Top ODAC Track Athletes

    A pair of familiar and highly decorated student-athletes collected the final athletic awards of the 2011-12 campaign. Roanoke's Carmen Graves and Lynchburg's James Bell were named the ODAC Track & Field Athletes of the Year for the second straight season. Bell earned the honor outright in 2011 while Graves shared her accolade with LC’s Jessica Gibbs a year ago.
  • ODAC Names Jopson, Berkley Winners

    A pair of Maroons earned the conference's top awards in a vote of the ODAC Board of Directors at the annual league meetings last week. Roanoke College women's track athlete Sarah Witt was recognized as the Marge Berkley Award winner, while golfer Brandon Ketron was tabbed the winner of the Doc Jopson Award.
  • Randolph to Add Track & Field in 2013-14

    Randolph College will be increasing its sports sponsorship by four beginning in 2013-14, as announced by the College on Tuesday. The WildCats will begin preparations for new programs in men's and women's indoor track as well as men's and women's outdoor track & field. The four sports increase Randolph's total sponsorship to 17 sports.
  • ODAC Well Represented at NCAA Track

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference sent three student-athletes (two men and one woman) to compete in the 2012 NCAA Division III Indoor Track Championships on the campus of Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa on March 9-11.
  • Indoor Track Championships Set for Friday

    Liberty University's Tolsma Indoor Track Center will be a popular ODAC attraction on Friday as conference teams compete in the 2012 ODAC Indoor Track Championships. Competition in the 15-event affair begins at 1:00 p.m. and continues through the awards ceremony at 9:00 p.m.
  • LC, RC Split Indoor Track Titles

    In its attempt to repeat as dual champion, Lynchburg secured the 2012 men's championship at the 2012 ODAC Indoor Track Championships on Friday evening. Roanoke denied the Hornets back-to-back double as the Maroons topped the women's team standings. Washington and Lee was second in both competitions.

  • LC Tops Men's Indoor Track Poll

    Lynchburg picked up seven first place votes on the way to 49 poll points as the Hornets were selected to win their 15th straight and 26th overall conference title in the annual ODAC Men’s Indoor Track Coaches’ Poll. Bridgewater picked up the remaining top nod and 41 total tallies, and Washington and Lee rounded out the top three with 35 points.
  • Lynchburg Leads Women's Indoor Poll

    Lynchburg collected five first place votes on the way to 46 poll points as the Hornets were selected atop the ODAC Women’s Indoor Track Coaches’ Poll. Roanoke earned a pair of top billings as part of 43 tallies, and W&L earned the remaining first place nod towards 40 points in the survey. Both look to keep LC from winning its second straight and 11th overall ODAC crown.
  • Former Hornet Qualifies for Olympic Trials

    Ricky Flynn, a 2009 graduate of Lynchburg College, continued his storied running career on Tuesday at the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Half Marathon. Flynn finished fourth among Americans and seventh overall with a time 1:04:15. His 4:55 mile pace qualified him for the Olympic Marathon Team Trials.
  • BC Tops USTFCCCA Academic Rankings

    Bridgewater College earned the top team ranking in the women's track & field scholar team rankings compiled by the USTFCCCA this past week. The Eagles posted a team GPA of 3.63, heading an ODAC contingent that included team and individual honors from both the men's and women's ranks.
