ODAC Players of the Week: January 18

Full Winter Slate in Action

SALEM, Va. --- The full winter slate of ODAC athletics was in action over the past week for the first time since early December.  Track joined the fray with multiple meets for both the men and women.  Swimming featured several ODAC squads in action.  And men's and women's basketball enjoyed standings-separating matchups and a couple of Top-25 showdowns.

In men's basketball, Dominic Trawick led Bridgewater College to a pair of ODAC wins.  He notched 29 points in each of outing, adding 12 rebounds to his efforts against Roanoke College.  He nailed eight three-pointers to help improve his season scoring average to 20.6 points per game, second in the ODAC.

Women's hoops saw Washington and Lee University pick up two conference wins in three contests.  Becca Bolton starred for the Generals with a trio of double-doubles.  She finished the week with a 20-point 18-rebound day in a victory over Bridgewater.  She averaged 15.7 points and 15.0 boards for the week, improving her season rebounding clip to 10.8 per game.

Randolph-Macon College's Sarah Almond was one of several strong ODAC swimmers in various pools.  The sophomore won three events in R-MC's 155-100 win over Bridgewater, stopping the watches first in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events, as well as the 100-yard backstroke.

Lynchburg College's Dan Reid made it two Hornet throwers in as many men's indoor track weekly awards as the senior shined at the Maryland Terrapin Indoor Invitational.  Reid posted the best marks of any NCAA Division III athlete in the shot put and weight throw, provisionally qualifying for the NCAA Division III National Championships in the latter discipline.

In women's track, Roanoke rookie Carmen Graves applied her speed and athletic ability from the soccer pitch to the indoor surface with wins in the triple jump and 400-meter dash at the Marietta College Open 1.  She also placed third in the 200-meter dash.
