Tharon Suggs, Lynchburg, Gr., Guard

Suggs, a graduate student from Raleigh, N.C., was a clutch performer in helping Lynchburg to a 1-1 week against strong non-conference competition. Suggs finished with 13 points at Salisbury, but it was the final four of the game that mattered most and he put Lynchburg ahead twice with under a minute to play, including the game-winning elbow jumper with 1.9 seconds for a 77-75 triumph over the Sea Gulls. He added four rebounds and a steal. Lynchburg, which is receiving votes towards the latest D3hoops.com Top-25 poll, then squared off with nationally 14th-ranked Christopher Newport. Suggs was 10-of-18 from the field and poured in a season-high 25 points in the Hornets 79-74 setback in Newport News. He hit a trio of three-pointers and dished out three assists with two rebounds and two steals. For the season, Suggs is averaging 14.0 points per game and is shooting 40.0-percent (14-of-35) from beyond the arc.
