Duo Repeats as Top ODAC Track AthletesJuly 06, 2012A pair of familiar and highly decorated student-athletes collected the final athletic awards of the 2011-12 campaign. Roanoke's Carmen Graves and Lynchburg's James Bell were named the ODAC Track & Field Athletes of the Year for the second straight season. Bell earned the honor outright in 2011 while Graves shared her accolade with LC’s Jessica Gibbs a year ago.

ODAC Names Jopson, Berkley WinnersJune 05, 2012A pair of Maroons earned the conference's top awards in a vote of the ODAC Board of Directors at the annual league meetings last week. Roanoke College women's track athlete Sarah Witt was recognized as the Marge Berkley Award winner, while golfer Brandon Ketron was tabbed the winner of the Doc Jopson Award.

LC's Bell, RC's Graves All-AmericansJune 03, 2012Lynchburg College's James Bell and Roanoke College's Carmen Graves earned All-America recognition at the 2012 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps last week. The honors highlight the performances of six ODAC student-athletes during the three-day affair.

Myers 13th After Five Decathlon EventsMay 25, 2012Washington and Lee's Dillon Myers sat in 13th position after the first five events of the decathlon following the opening day of competition at the 2012 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Four other ODAC athletes competed on day one, including James Bell from Lynchburg, who is four spots behind Myers in 17th in the decathlon.

ODAC Track Athletes Ready for NCAA'sMay 24, 2012Six of the ODAC's top track & field athletes were set to begin competition at the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships in Claremont, Calif. The three-day affair, hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, kicked off with several events on Thursday, May 24, and continues thru Saturday, May 26. The ODAC is represented three male and three female participants.

RC Women, LC Men Win Track TitlesApril 21, 2012Roanoke's women and Lynchburg's men took home team titles at the 2012 ODAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday afternoon. The Maroons' Carmen Graves garnered women's Athlete of the Meet honors, while Bridgewater's Luke Sohl turned the double as top athlete and ODAC Rookie of the Year on the men's side.

Randolph to Add Track & Field in 2013-14April 10, 2012Randolph College will be increasing its sports sponsorship by four beginning in 2013-14, as announced by the College on Tuesday. The WildCats will begin preparations for new programs in men's and women's indoor track as well as men's and women's outdoor track & field. The four sports increase Randolph's total sponsorship to 17 sports.

Former Hornet Qualifies for Olympic TrialsOctober 05, 2011Ricky Flynn, a 2009 graduate of Lynchburg College, continued his storied running career on Tuesday at the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Half Marathon. Flynn finished fourth among Americans and seventh overall with a time 1:04:15. His 4:55 mile pace qualified him for the Olympic Marathon Team Trials.

BC Tops USTFCCCA Academic RankingsAugust 15, 2011Bridgewater College earned the top team ranking in the women's track & field scholar team rankings compiled by the USTFCCCA this past week. The Eagles posted a team GPA of 3.63, heading an ODAC contingent that included team and individual honors from both the men's and women's ranks.
