Childress, a senior from Franklin, Va., put together an excellent week at the dish in leading the Eagles to a 3-1 mark. Childress hit at an .833 clip (10-for-12) and reached base in 12-of-14 plate appearances (walked twice). Childress went 6-for-6 in the doubleheader on Thursday at Emory & Henry, before notching a three-hit game in the opener on Sunday at York. The Eagles third baseman scored five times on the week and drove in an additional three runs to aid the Eagles offense. She also hit her 12th double and third homer of the season. Childress leads the ODAC with a .484 batting average and .561 on-base percentage.

Alexis Labiche, Eastern Mennonite, Freshman,
Outfield/3rd Base
Labiche batted .667 with a 1.333 slugging percentage in
EMU’s only games last week, a doubleheader sweep of Southern
Virginia. In a 14-4 game two win over the Knights, Labiche
put her legs to work with a pair of triples in her first two
at-bats. She finished the game going 3-3 with 3 RBIs and a
run scored. In the first game against SVU, she went 1-3 with
a stolen base and run scored.
Julie Langseth, Guilford, Senior, Infielder
Langseth had seven hits in her 12 at-bats in
Guilford’s 4-0 week, tallying a .583 batting average and two
home runs… recorded a club-best nine RBI and 1.167 slugging
percentage for the week… in the Quakers’ doubleheader
wins against Randolph, Langseth went four-for-seven with a double,
and a three-run homer … in the Quakers’ rout of
Sweet Briar College, Langseth had a first-inning grand slam
that got the Quakers off to a hot start and ended the day going
three-for-six with six RBI.
Laura Bauer, Randolph-Macon, Junior, Catcher
Bauer led the Randolph-Macon attack on Saturday with a
combined 3-for-5 day at the plate. The Junior blasted a solo
homerun in game one to propel the Jackets to a 3-0 win. Bauer went
deep again in game two with a three run shot to highlight a ten run
first inning.
