Kandis Kresinske, Virginia Wesleyan, Fr., Pitcher

Kresinske, a freshman from Chesapeake, Va., continued her strong rookie campaign by going 3-0 against conference opponents last week. She opened with an eight-inning complete-game effort in a 3-2 win over Randolph-Macon.  She gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits with two walks and a career-best 11 strikeouts.  Kresinske then worked 9.0 no-hit innings to pick up her remaining two victories of the week.  She went 4.0 frames in a 6-0 triumph at Bridgewater, surrendering two walks while fanning six.  In an 11-0 win at Shenandoah, she issued just one free pass to go with five strikeouts.  For the season, Kresinske is tied for second in the ODAC with 12 wins (12-1).  She owns the best earned run average in the league at 0.73 in 76.1 innings of work.  She has struck out an ODAC third-best 83 batters.  Opponents are hitting just .156 against her, which ranks second in the conference.

Sydney Reath, Eastern Mennonite (Fr.)
Reath went 2-1 against league foes last week.  In a 7-0 win at Bridgewater, she tossed a two-hit shutout in which she walked one and fanned five in 7.0 innings in the circle. She followed that with another strong 7.0 inning effort in a 7-3 win over Roanoke. She gave up three runs (two earned) on six hits with three walks and a strikeout.  Her loss game in game two to RC (8-5) in which she gave up four runs on five hits in 2.0 frames.

Courtney Lackey, Guilford (So.)
Lackey went 1-0 in three outings last week.  Her win came in a 7.0-inning effort in a 5-2 decision over Lynchburg.  She gave up two runs on six hits with a walk and two strikeouts.  She also worked 6.1 total frames of relief, giving up eight runs on 10 hits.

Conner English, Lynchburg (So.)
English went 4-1 last week, picking up two victories in relief and going 2-1 in three starts to increase her ODAC-leading wins total to 13. She earned both relief wins in a sweep of Ferrum, giving up three runs on 11 hits with 13 strikeouts and three walks in 12.0 total innings. Seven of those came in game two as she entered with no one out in the first inning. She started and won both games in a sweep of Emory & Henry. She fanned 19 in 11.0 frames. She gave up two hits and walked one with 10 strikeouts in four innings in a 9-1 five-inning win in game one. She fanned nine in game two, going all seven innings and giving up five runs (four earned) on six hits with two walks in an 11-5 win in game two. Her loss came in a 5-2 decision at Guilford as she gave up five runs on 11 hits with one strikeout in 6.2 innings.

Nelda Bagley, Randolph-Macon (So.)
Bagley went 1-1 last week with a no-decision in three appearances.  Her no-decision came in a 3-2 eight-inning loss at Virginia Wesleyan. She worked the first seven frames, giving up two runs (one earned) on six hits. She walked three and struck out seven.  She picked up the loss in 1.1 innings of relief in a 6-5 setback at Roanoke. She gave up one unearned run on three hits with two walks and a strikeout.  She picked up her 10th win of the season with a complete-game four-hitter against the Maroons in game two.  She gave up one run while walking one and fanning five.

Emily Salsberry, Roanoke (Fr.)
Salsberry went 1-0 in three appearances for the Maroons last week.  Her win came in 8.0 innings of relief in a 6-5 decision over Randolph-Macon. she gave up one unearned run on two hits with two walks and four strikeouts. She also worked 1.1 innings in a loss at Eastern Mennonite, giving up one run on four hits with a walk and a strikeout.  She had a brief 0.1 inning cameo in an 8-3 win over Emory & Henry.
