Bourgeois, a senior from Bealeton, Va., had a perfect start to her season as the Hornets earned a sweep of Methodist via 12-4 and 11-1 results. Bourgeois went 6-for-6 with a trio of hits in each game. She smacked a double, scored a run and drove in one more in game one. In the second contest, Bourgeois belted two doubles, scored three times, and brought around two more runners. She finished the week with a 1.000/1.000/1.500 slash line.

Softball Player of the Week Honor Roll

Caley Hodge, E&H: went 4-for-8 in the Wasps sweep of Salem. She was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a homer, two runs scored, and three RBI in an 8-7 win in game two.

Makayla Crawford, GC: was 5-for-7 in the Quakers split at William Peace. Went 3-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in a game two loss (8-4). Smacked two doubles in four trips in a 5-4 win in game one.

Becca Wenger, RC: had a hit in each game of a split at Greensboro. She homered and drove in two runs in a 4-1 win in game one.

Allie Schey, SU: went 6-for-13 with a double, homer, five runs scored, and five RBI in a 2-2 start for SU. Had two hits including a double in a 20-15 win over Southern Virginia. Had two more hits including a homer and three RBI in a 3-2 win over Salem.

Cassetty Howerin, VWU: reigning ODAC Player of the Year went 4-for-4 with two walks in the Marlins sweep of Meredith. She scored three runs and drove in three. She stole a base in game one (W, 5-1).
