    Hollins University senior and swimming standout Dani Raymond has been awarded the NCAA Women’s Enhancement Graduate Scholarship, which supports students enrolled in a sports-related program as a full-time graduate student.

    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Washington and Lee University's contingent of swimmers shined over the course of four days at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships on March 21-24. The Generals took home 13 All-American or Honorable Mention All-America laurels out of 20 entries in the championships competed at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind.

    There will be plenty of swimmers wearing blue and white trident caps in Indianapolis in three weeks as Washington and Lee University and the ODAC will be represented by 13 student-athletes at the 2018 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. Eight women and five men will take to the waters at the Indiana University Natatorium on March 21-24.

    It's no secret that 2017-18 brought big changes to the conference's swimming ranks. Five men's programs and three women's squads kicked off their first seasons, bringing the league's total contingent to 22 teams -- 12 women and 10 men. One would only expect that the the championship event would then be large. That's exactly what swimming fans can look forward to this weekend as the largest contingent of swimmers in conference history will compete at the 2018 ODAC Swimming Championships over the next three days, February 9-11. The Greensboro Aquatic Center reprises its role as exemplary host for the six-session 36-event affair.

    ODAC men's swimming has grown each year of its official sponsorship in the league, but the expansion for 2017-18 doubles the size of the conference contingent from a season ago. Five new programs are set to the join league ranks, bringing total sponsorship to 10 teams for the fourth full season of men's swimming under the ODAC banner.

    Three new squads join the ranks of ODAC women's swimming in 2017-18, but despite the fresh infusion of competition, the view from the top remains the same. Washington and Lee University, winners of 10 straight conference women's swimming championships, picked up 11 first place votes towards a perfect 121 points to lead the ODAC Women's Swimming Preseason Poll.
