Merritt, a senior from McAllen, Texas, won two races and swam the decisive leg of Guilford's 200-yard medley relay squad in the Quakers' 64-31 triumph over Hollins.  She took the 200-yard individual medley in 2:35.41 and won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:12.33.  Merritt swam the breaststroke leg on the medley relay in 36.79 seconds, five seconds better than her counterpart from Hollins, which essentially helped the Quakers take a five-second victory in the race.
