TRACILYN BABINGTON, Randolph-Macon, Freshman

Babington, a freshman from Hillsboro, Ohio, broke a Prothro Natatorium pool (Sweet Briar) record that had stood since 1984 with a time of 1:16.89 in the 100-meter breaststroke (pool in short course meters). She was one of two Yellow Jackets to pick up four wins on the day. Babington also took individual wins in the 50-meter freestyle (28.95) and the 400-meter breaststroke (2:06.95) before winning the 200-freestyle relay.

Swimming Honor Roll

Michelle Caron, Bridgewater College, Freshman
Caron posted a pair of record-setting finishes against Division II Millersville on Saturday. Caron took home a time of 11:38.21 in the 1,000 yard freestyle to pick up the win. Her final school record fell during the next event when Caron capped off her day with a 2:24.80 in the 200 yard backstroke, good enough for second place overall. In the final event, Caron swam the third leg of the winning 200 yard freestyle relay.

Daphne Murphy, Guilford College, Senior
Murphy won the 500 freestyle in 6:44.78 in a tri-meet with Hollins and Emory & Henry… took third in the 50 freestyle in 29.11 and swam on the Quakers’ 400 freestyle relay squad that placed second.

Katie Salvati, Washington and Lee University, Junior
Salvati swam in three events on Saturday, claiming two individual victories while helping W&L sweep a double dual with Catholic and Marymount. She finished tops in the 100 back (1:03.09) and 400 IM (4:53.47), and swam the lead leg for the 200 medley relay that finished second with a time of 1:59.07.
