W&L's Horn Headlines End-of-Season Women's Basketball Awards

FOREST, Va. --- ODAC Player of the Year Megan Horn from Washington and Lee University headlined the end-of-season women's basketball awards, as recently announced by D3hoops.com and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).

Horn was the lone conference player to garner All-America status. She was tabbed to the Honorable Mention All-American Team.

The two All-American releases come on the heels of earlier awards processes. D3hoops.com honors All-Region teams, while the All-American release is the lone awards source for the WBCA. Those honorees are listed below.

Horn, a senior Basking Ridge, N.J., is just the fourth player in program history to earn All-America recogntion. Another of those four honorees is currrent Generals assistant coach Erin Hughes, who received her award in 2020-21.

The ODAC Player of the Year, Horn was a two-way star that featured as the engine behind Washington and Lee's offense and a defensive stalwart that can guard any position on the floor. The three-time All-ODAC selection led the ODAC in defensive rebounds (157), was third in the ODAC in assists (100), fourth in scoring (13.8), fifth in points scored (344), and seventh in rebounding (7.2). Horn scored in double figures in 20-of-25 games played with three double-doubles. She matched a career-high with 23 points scored in a win at Bridgewater in late January, set a new personal-high for rebounds with 15 boards in a triumph over Lynchburg on January 15, a tied a career-best with 10 assists in a win at Virginia Wesleyan on January 8.

Horn crossed the 300-assist mark for her career this season as well, becoming the fourth player in program history to do so, and she also finishes her career alongside Louisa Feve '06 as one of two players in program history with at least 300 assists and 400 rebounds. Horn ends her career with the fourth-most assists in program history (353), sixth-most three-point field goals made (132), and the program's only triple-double.
