Sweet Briar Tabs Newman to Take Reins of Lacrosse ProgramMay 31, 2016Sweet Briar College athletic director Teresa Boylan has announced the hiring of Meredith Newman ’09, as the new head coach of the Vixen lacrosse program. Newman will return to Sweet Briar from Augustana College in Illinois, where she headed the women’s lacrosse program for the last two seasons.

Roanoke's Feeney Leads ODAC Contingent in IWLCA HonorsMay 27, 2016Roanoke College attacker Claire Feeney headlines ODAC honorees by the IWLCA as the 2016 ODAC Player of the Year earned recognition as a Third Team All-American. Feeney was the lone conference athlete to pick up All-America laurels, but she is one of seven to receive all-region accolades.

Washington and Lee Falls to Mount Union in NCAA First RoundMay 14, 2016Senior attacker Katherine Doraty scored five goals to lead the Mount Union women's lacrosse team to an 11-10 win over 17th-ranked Washington and Lee in the first round of the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Tournament on Saturday afternoon at Tylus Field at Franklin & Marshall.

RC's Feeney, W&L's O'Brien Headline ODAC Women's Lacrosse AwardsMay 11, 2016Roanoke College playmaker Claire Feeney and Washington and Lee University mentor Brooke O'Brien headline the All-ODAC Women's Lacrosse awards as the pair were named the ODAC Player and Coach of the Year, respectively. Generals' midfielder Haley Tucker garnered the ODAC Rookie of the Year award, while Randolph-Macon College defender Natalie Schnell received ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete laurels.

Generals Headed to F&M to Face Mount Union in NCAA First RoundMay 08, 2016Washington and Lee University knew it had secured a spot in the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Tournament following Saturday's ODAC championship victory over Randolph-Macon College. Now the Generals have a location and opponent as they'll make the trip to Lancaster, Pa., and the campus of Franklin & Marshall College to square off with the University of Mount Union in the first round.

Washington and Lee Wins Seventh Straight ODAC Women's Lacrosse TitleMay 07, 2016The 17th-ranked Washington and Lee women's lacrosse team scored 10 first-half goals en route to claiming the 2016 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship with a 16-3 triumph over Randolph-Macon on Saturday afternoon at Watt Field. The Generals earn the ODAC's automatic entry into the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Tournament.

Division III Women's Lacrosse Championships Headed to SalemFebruary 19, 2016The NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse Committee announced it has selected Salem, Virginia, as the host of the 2017 and 2018 championships. The events will be held at Kerr Stadium on the campus of Roanoke College and be hosted by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and the city of Salem.

Washington and Lee Favored in ODAC Women's Lacrosse Preseason PollFebruary 11, 2016Six-time defending ODAC champion Washington and Lee University is favored to lift its 17th overall conference trophy after collecting 78 total points and six first place votes to lead a tightly segmented ODAC Women's Lacrosse Preseason Poll. Trailing by just two points in second is 2015 runner-up Randolph-Macon College, which also garnered the remaining four top considerations. With 58 tallies, Roanoke College is just one point clear of Lynchburg College for third place in the annual head coaches survey.

SBC Tabs Behrle Interim Lacrosse Head CoachJanuary 25, 2016Sweet Briar College Director of Athletics Teresa Boylan has announced the hiring of Megan Behrle, '09, as the interim head lacrosse coach. Behrle comes to Sweet Briar from Washington D.C., where she has been coaching the WINNERS Lacrosse club team since 2013.

Team IMPACT's Brooke Austin Signs with GuilfordOctober 08, 2015Guilford College's women's lacrosse coach Sarah Lamphier introduced eight-year-old Brooke Austin as the Quakers' newest team member Wednesday afternoon. Lamphier introduced Austin to a contingent of Guilford community members at the special signing-day event in Founders Hall on Guilford's campus.
