Barrett, a sophomore from Bealeton, Va., helped Averett University to third place overall in a strong field at the New Standard Corporation Invitational hosted by York College (Pa.). Barrett faced three top-nine* ranked wrestlers on his way to finishing second at 125 pounds. He opened with a 12-2 major decision win over Liam Bullock from SUNY-Brockport. Barrett then squared off with fellow ODAC competitor Riley Parker from Washington and Lee. Barrett earn a 3-1 decision over the weight class's top-ranked wrestler. He then moved on to face ninth-ranked Ryan Rosenthal from The College of New Jersey. Barrett osted a 4-3 decision to setup a championship showdown with sixth-ranked Joziah Fry from Johnson & Wales. Fry posted a 10-4 decision on the way to being named wrestler of the tournament. After going 3-1 at York, Barrett is now 11-2 on the year.
