BRITTANY WILSON, Bridgewater, Freshman, No. 4 Singles, No. 3 Doubles

Wilson, a freshman from Lynchburg, Va., remained hot in the Spring with a 3-0 week at No. 4 singles and a perfect 3-0 week in No. 3 doubles to help pace the Bridgewater Eagles to an unbeaten week in women’s tennis action. She opened the week with a 6-2, 7-5 win against Southern Virginia, before rolling to a 6-2, 6-1 win against the Vixens of Sweet Briar. Finally, Wilson earned a 7-5, 6-0 win on Saturday against Virginia Wesleyan. Wilson also teamed with Olivia Stone to go unbeaten in doubles action with 8-3, 8-4 and 8-1 victories, respectively. Currently, the freshman is riding a 10 match unbeaten streak in singles play, and a six match winning streak in doubles action.

Priscilla Montoya, Hollins, Freshman, No. 2 Singles, No. 1 Doubles
Montoya helped Hollins to a sweep of three matches in Orlando, Fla., on HU's spring break trip.  She topped Oglethorpe (6-0, 6-1), Huntingdon (6-4, 6-2) and Puerto Rico-Mayaguez (6-4, 6-3) from the second ladder position in singles play.  She also earned doubles victories in each match (8-4, 8-3 and 8-

Catherine Reed, Washington and Lee, Senior, No. 6 Singles, No. 2 Doubles
In ODAC action on Wednesday, Reed played at No. 4 singles, defeating Lucy Webb of Roanoke College, 6-1, 6-0. In doubles, she partnered with Sallie Griffin to defeat Roanoke’s Shana Hensley and Lauren Marzal, 8-0 at the No. 2 slot.  Over the weekend, Reed played No. 6 singles for the Generals at the Fab 10 Tournament hosted by Emory University in Atlanta. On Friday, she topped Samantha Gann from No. 8 Tufts, 2-6, 7-5, 11-9 as the Generals went on to lose the match 5-4. Saturday she faced Caroline Capute from No. 2 Williams, losing by a score of 6-1, 6-3 as the Generals were swept in a match played to decision, 5-0. In the final match on Sunday, she topped No. 4 University of Chicago’s Shanelle Trail, 7-5, 6-0. She scored the only team point for the Generals in the match, as the team lost 8-1.
