Velazco, a sophomore from Barquisimeto, Venezuela, went 6-0 individually as the WildCats won three matches.  In a 6-0 win over Southern Virginia, Velazco won 6-1, 6-1 at #3 singles and joined partner Jenna Sweet in an 8-3 win at #2 doubles.  In a 5-3 win over Emory & Henry on Friday, Velazco and Sweet won 8-4 at #2 doubles, with Velazco winning 6-4, 6-0 at #3 singles.  in an 8-1 win over Virginia Wesleyan, Velazco moved up to #2 singles and posted a 6-0, 6-1 victory.  She and Sweet won 8-3 at #2 doubles.

Women's Tennis Honor Roll

Madison Giles, Guilford (Fr. - Snellville, Ga.)
Giles won 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 at #3 singles and teamed with Nora Prokosch to win 8-4 at #2 doubles in the Quakers 6-3 win over Sweet Briar.

Melissa Tomlin, Randolph-Macon (Fr. - Prince George, Va.)
Tomlin helped R-MC to a 1-1 showing against a pair of NCAA D-II opponents.  After dropping both #4 singles and #3 doubles matches in a 9-0 loss to Barton, Tomlin rebounded with a 6-0, 6-1 at #4 singles and an 8-0 with partner Molly Jesseman at #2 doubles in a 6-3 victory over Shaw.
