INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Washington and Lee University, winners of the 2013 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship, received the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament.  The tournament bracket was released this morning and the Generals will travel to Atlanta, Ga. and Emory University for regional play.  W&L will square off against Berry College in its opening match on Friday.

Emory will serve as host of one of eight regional pods that each feature eight teams each from across the country. Forty-three conferences were awarded automatic qualification for the 2013 championship. Two teams were selected from Pool B, which consists of independent schools and school that are members of conferences that do not meet the requirements for automatic qualification. The final 19 berths were reserved for Pool C, which consists of schools from automatic-qualifying conferences that are not the conference champion and any remaining Pool B teams.

Washington and Lee (28-6) will be meeting Berry (25-7) for the first time this season.  The Vikings punched their NCAA dance card with one of the two Pool B bids.  W&L topped Lynchburg College, 3-0, on Saturday to secure its 14th conference crown.

The eight-team pod in Emory features three nationally-ranked teams, led by the host Eagles (30-4) as #6 in the latest AVCA Top-25 poll (as of 11/5/13).  EU, which earned its spot via an at-large berth, faces Great South Athletic Conference champion Agnes Scott College (11-17).  The winner of that match faces either W&L or Berry in the second round.  Colorado College (33-4) headlines the upper tier of the eight-team bracket, ranking 11th in the country.  The Tigers, who enter as an at-large selection, take on USA South champion Maryville College (Tenn.) (24-15).  Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (24-6), ranked 24th in the nation, makes the trip east after earning an at-large bid.  The Athenas matchup with Thomas More College (24-5).  The Saints won the Presidents' Athletic Conference title.

Play in the regional round* of the 2013 NCAA Division III Tournament begins on Friday, November 15, and continues with second round matches on Saturday and third round contests on Sunday.  Each of the eight regional winners will meet in Holland, Mich., November 21-23 to determine a national champion.  Hope College will serve as the tournament host.
