Tristen Pennington, Emory & Henry, Fr., Outside Hitter

Pennington, a freshamn from Kingsport, Tenn., has put together a pair of strong weeks in her debut season to help lead Emory & Henry to an ODAC-best 5-1 record.  In a 4-1 showing this week, Pennington collected 70 total kills and averaged 3.68 per set as she hit .244 overall and accounted for 78 points won of the Wasps.  She smacked double-figure winners in all five matches, including a weekly high of 19 to go with 14 digs in a 3-1 win over Methodist.  Pennington registered 65 total digs, including 22 against Virginia Intermont.  She added seven total aces to her stat line.  Pennington is currently #1 in the ODAC in kills per set (3.68).

Volleyball Honor Roll

D Probst, Eastern Mennonite (So., OH, Willow Street, Pa.)
Probst averaged 2.8 kills with a .271 attack percentage in EMU's 2-3 week. She had 12 kills in a loss to Marymount, and hit .241 or higher in four of the five matches.

Brittany Freeman, Guilford (Sr., OH, Hendersonville, N.C.)
Freeman earned a spot on the Greensboro College Invitational all-tournament team after leading Guilford with 56 kills in four games (3.5 kills per set)... also collected 20 digs on the weekend and accounted for a team-high 61-points in the Quakers' 2-2 week.

Sierra Strathy, Lynchburg (So., OH, Powhatan, Va.)
Strathy was named to the Johns Hopkins University All-Tournament team this weekend after leading LC to a 3-1 record. She boasted a .571 hitting percentage, drilled 36 kills and added 13 blocks.

Katie Rossberg, Randolph-Macon (So., MH, Crozet, Va.)
Rossberg registered 58 kills and 60 digs in the Yellow Jackets 3-3 week.  She had highs of 15 kills and 17 digs in a 3-1 win over Virginia Wesleyan.  Rossberg also had seven aces on the week.

Mackenzie Tyree, Roanoke (Sr., DS)
Tyree was named the MVP of Greensboro College Invitational after collecting 48 total digs, including 20 in a 3-1 win over the host Pride.  She averaged 3.20 pickups per set in RC's 5-0 week.

Jasmine Callahan, Shenandoah (Fr., S, Forest, Va.)
Callahan helped the Hornets to a 2-1 week by dishing out 107 assists and picking her spots to hit .390 with 18 kills.  Callahan assisted on 55 winners in a 5-set loss to Penn St.-Altoona, and smacked 10 kills in a 3-0 win over Lancaster Bible.

Alex Lambert, Virginia Wesleyan (Jr., MH, Alexandria, Va.)
Lambert helped guide VWC to a 3-2 week, including a 2-2 showing at the Randolph-Macon Invitational.  She notched 51 kills and 15 aces, the latter number boosted by seven service winners in a 3-2 win over Averett.  She also recorded seven total blocks and 22 digs.

M.A. Boles, Washington and Lee (Sr., OH, Houston, Texas)
Boles totaled 51 kills (3.92 kills per set) as the Generals went 2-2 at the W&L Invitational this weekend. Both of the team's losses came to Top 25 teams in 14th-ranked Otterbein and fifth-ranked Christopher Newport. Against CNU, Boles recorded 16 kills and she had 13 in three sets against the Cardinals. For the week, Boles also totaled 32 digs, five service aces, six assists and five total blocks. She was named the the W&L Invitational All-Tournament Team.
