Lynchburg Wins Field Hockey Crown
LYNCHBURG, VA - Freshman midfielder Kelli Williams scored the game's only two goals to lead the top-seeded Lynchburg field hockey team to a 2-0 victory over #2 Randolph-Macon College in the finals of the 2010 ODAC Championship tournament. It is the Hornets fifth-straight ODAC crown and the 14th in program history.

Randolph-Macon took only seven shots against Washington and Lee University on Wednesday evening, but five rattled the cage to propel the Yellow Jackets past W&L, 5-3, and into its firs ODAC field hockey title contest since 1998.

Lynchburg field hockey advanced to its seventh consecutive ODAC title game on Wednesday evening as the Hornets topped Eastern Mennonite, 6-0, in ODAC semifinal action. Jenny Weir tallied a pair of goals to go along with two helpers.

Eastern Mennonite University defeated Bridgewater College, 2-1, in the quarterfinals of the ODAC field hockey tournament on Saturday. The Royals advance to the semifinals and will take on top-seeded Lynchburg College on Wednesday.

Lynchburg College and Randolph-Macon College earned byes into the semifinals of the 2010 ODAC Field Hockey Tournament in the sport’s six-team format. The Hornets garnered the top seed after winning each of their seven league contests. The Yellow Jackets enter the ODAC postseason as the second seed.
