November 2, 2019 Generals Sweep ODAC Cross Country Titles
On a picture-perfect morning and early afternoon at Green Hill Park in Salem, Va., Washington and Lee continued its dominance in the ODAC Cross Country Championships teams standings as the Generals swept both trophies for the fifth straight season. The Generals' women set a new ODAC record for margin of victory with a 20-to-73 gap between them and second-place University of Lynchburg. W&L's men earned a 31-to-39 win over Lynchburg in the men's table.
The ODAC individual champions were split between Washington and Lee and Lynchburg. W&L sophomore Sara Stephenson captured both ODAC Runner and Rookie of the Meet awards with a time of 22:00.4 following her run on the six-kilometer championship course. Lynchburg's Max Sparks won the men's crown by more than 15-seconds at 24:44.1 after finishing the eight-kilometer championship course.
