Mary Schleusner, Washington and Lee, Fy., Forward
February 20, 2023Schleusner, a first-year from Charlotte, Va., helped Washington and Lee secure the top seed in the upcoming ODAC Tournament with a pair of league wins last week. The Generals now boast a 16-2 conference record, tying the program record. At 19-6 overall, they are one win shy of tying the program record for wins in a season. Schleusner was efficient in terms of percentages and against time on the floor in W&L's two victories last week. That started with an 18-minute shift in an 86-43 win at Hollins University. She posted 10 points and seven rebounds while shooting 57.1-percent (4-of-7) from the field. She canned both of her free throws, came away with three steals, and was right on her ODAC league-leading average with three blocked shots. In game two, Schleusner registered 19 points and eight boards in 22 minutes on the court in the Generals 71-48 win over Shenandoah in the regular seasons finale. She was 9-of-14 (64.3%) from the field and made her lone free throw. She dished out two assists and posted five steals along with six blocked shots to move her into second in the W&L single-season record books with 75 rejections. For the season, Schleusner leads the ODAC in blocks, total rebounds (283), and offensive rebounds (88). She is second in rebounding average (11.3) and defensive boards (195), fourth in field goals made (135-of-301), and fifth in scoring (13.4) and total points scored (336). -
Catherine Kagey, Randolph-Macon, Jr., Guard/Forward
February 13, 2023Kagey, a junior from Roanoke, Va., earns her third weekly award of the season after leading Randolph-Macon to a pair of wins last week including an ODAC victory to stay just one game back of league-leading Washington and Lee at 13-3 in the conference table. Kagey collected her seventh double-double of the season in a 58-48 non-conference win over Salisbury. She accounted for nearly half of R-MC's points with 25 markers on 12-of-16 shooting from the field. She pulled down 12 rebounds including five on the offensive glass and dished out a pair of assists with two steals and three blocked shots. In ODAC play on the weekend, Kagey came up one rebound shy of a second double-double in R-MC's 54-44 triumph over Randolph College. She registered 16 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field. She added nine boards to with three assists, and a steal. For the season, Kagey is averaging 15.7 points and 9.3 rebounds, which rank fourth and third in the conference, respectively. She is third in field goals made (136-of-266), defensive rebounds (147) and total boards (205), fourth in total points (346) and field goal shooting (51.1%), and fifth in assists (70) and free throws made (71-of-111).

Riley Corcoran, Bridgewater, Fy., Guard
February 06, 2023Corcoran, a first-year from Chapel Hill, N.C., helped Bridgewater rattle off three ODAC wins last week to snap a three-game skid and return the Eagles to challenging position in the top-half of the league table at 10-4 in conference games and 15-5 overall. Corcoran opened with 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting including 2-of-3 from deep in a 64-46 triumph at Virginia Wesleyan to start BC's three-game run. Seh added five rebounds and dished out four assists while also registering a steal. Corcoran was again in double figures as Bridgewater handed Washington and Lee just its second ODAC loss of the season via a 52-45 grind-it-out scoreline. She went for 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting. She pulled down four rebounds and handed our three assists to go along with a steal in a 31-minute shift. Corcoran turned up the production in the Eagles 60-53 road win at 2022 ODAC champion Shenandoah University. She shook off a 3-for-9 shooting day by going 9-for-9 at the foul line. She collected four rebounds and hand out a pair of assists to go with two more steals. For the season, Corcoran is sixth in the ODAC in field goal shooting (72-of-150; 48.0%). She is averaging 9.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game with 36 assists and 32 steals.

Catherine Kagey, Randolph-Macon, Jr., Guard/Forward
January 30, 2023Kagey, a junior from Roanoke, Va., picks up her second ODAC weekly award of the season after leading Randolph-Macon to a pair of conference victories. The Yellow Jackets have now won four straight games and sit just one game back of Washington and Lee in the ODAC standings at 11-2 in league play with a 14-5 overall record. Kagey opened her week with 28 points and 11 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the year in a 65-49 victory over Shenandoah. She was 9-of-18 from the field and 9-of-11 from the foul line. She added three assists and four steals to her line with three of her 11 boards coming via the offensive glass. Cagey followed that outing with 15 points and seven rebounds in a 73-60 win over Averett. She was 6-of-9 shooting with a 3-for-5 showing from the charity stripe. She chipped in three assists, two steals, and three blocked shots to complete her well-rounded night. For the season, Cagey is second in the ODAC in scoring (15.8) and ranks third in total points (285), field goals made (108-of-219), free throws made (66-of-102), rebounding (9.1), total boards (164), and defensive rebounds (117). She is fifth in field goal shooting (49.3%), assists (61), and blocked shots (22).

Anna Giannopoulou, Guilford, Fy., Forward
January 23, 2023Giannopoulou, a first-year from Athens, Greece, earns her first ODAC weekly award after leading Guilford to a pair of ODAC victories last week, running the Quakers winning streak to nine straight games including five conference contests in a row. Giannopoulou matched her season and career-high with 19 points to go with a season and collegiate-best 14 rebounds in a 73-51 win at Roanoke. She collected eight offensive boards on the way to her second double-double. She was 7-of-14 shooting from the field including 2-of-3 from deep. She added three assists and a blocked shot to her line. Giannopoulou was again in double figure with 12 points in a 62-58 triumph at Bridgewater. She added five boards including four via the offensive glass, and came away with four steals. For the season, Giannopoulou is second in the ODAC in steals (53), seventh in offensive rebounds (42), and eighth in field goals made (71-of-176). She is averaging 10.3 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.

Mary Schleusner, Washington and Lee, Fy., Forward
January 16, 2023Schleusner, a first-year from Charlotte, N.C., picks up her second weekly award of the season in record-setting fashion after leading Washington and Lee to a pair of ODAC victories to stay atop the league table at 9-0 as part of an overall 12-4 mark. Schleusner set a Generals women's basketball record with 23 rebounds in W&L's 86-69 victory over Roanoke College, snapping the benchmark of 21 rebounds by Megan Babst in December 1999. Schleusner paired her rebound record with 25 points for the first 20/20 game posted by an ODAC player since former Randolph-Macon All-American center Kelly Williams went for 20 points and 20 boards in a victory over Valley Forge in November 2018. Schleusner was 10-of-26 from the field against the Maroons. Eight of her 23 rebounds -- tied for 12th-most in Division III this season -- came via the offensive glass. She also blocked three shots and chipped in an assist and a steal in 32 minutes on the floor. Schleusner then helped the Generals win for the fifth time in six games with a 75-50 victory at Randolph-Macon. She went for 19 points and 16 rebounds her for sixth double-double of the season. She was 7-of-15 from the field including 3-of-3 from deep. She also blocked seven shots, her seventh game with at least three rejections and her second-highest output of the season. She is only the second player (Jessica Hunsinger) in program history with two or more games of seven or more blocked shots in her career. Schleusner added two assists and three steals at R-MC. For the season, Schleusner leads the ODAC in blocked shots (44) and all rebounding categories: average (11.0), total (176), defensive (117), offensive (59). She is second in points scored (224) and field goals made (91-of-197), fourth in scoring average (14.0), and seventh in field goals shooting (46.2%).

Lindsay Gauldin, Guilford, Gr., Guard
January 09, 2023Gauldin, a graduate student from Stokesdale, N.C., picks up her second weekly award of the season after leading Guilford to a pair of ODAC wins last week. Gauldin opened with her second 30-point game of the season in an 83-82 victory at Lynchburg. Her lay-up with nine seconds left provided the winning margin. She finished with 30 points on 11-of-17 shooting including 3-of-6 from deep. She added five rebounds, three assists, six steals, and a blocked shot to her line. Gauldin then notched 19 points in a 69-58 triumph over Shenandoah. She was 7-of-14 from the field and posted four boards, four assists, seven steals, and a blocked shot. For the season, Gauldin leads the ODAC in scoring (16.7), points (251), field goals made (93-of-169), and steals (55). She is second in free throws made (51-of-86), third in field goal shooting (55.0%), and eighth in blocked shots (14).

Catherine Kagey, Randolph-Macon, Jr., Forward
January 02, 2023Kagey, a junior from Roanoke, Va., posted her fourth and fifth double-doubles of the season in helping Randolph-Macon to a pair of victories at the Daytona Beach Shootout on December 19 and 21. Kagey opened with 28 points and 10 rebounds in a 55-49 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, a program which reached the 2022 NCAA quarterfinals. Kagey was 11-of-18 from the field and scored the Yellow Jackets final 12 points to seal the victory. She added a pair of assists, a steal, and a blocked shot to her line. Cagey then dropped 22 points and pulled down 16 boards in a 55-43 win over St. Norbert College. She was 8-of-15 from the field and 5-of-6 from the foul. Seven of her rebounds came via the offensive glass. She chipped in three assists, three blocked shots, and a steal. For the season, Kagey leads the ODAC in scoring (15.7) and is second in minutes played (34.0) and defensive rebounds (71). she is third in field goals made (63-of-127), total rebounds (94), and rebounding average (9.4), fifth in points (157), seventh in field goal shooting (49.6%).

Lindsay Gauldin, Guilford, Gr., Forward
December 19, 2022Gauldin, a graduate student from Stokesdale, N.C., averaged 24.5 points and shot 63.0-percent (17-of-27) from the field in Guilford's non-conference wins on Saturday and Sunday. Gauldin opened with 29 points and 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the season in a 77-61 win over Pfeiffer. She was 10-of-18 shooting from the field including 3-of-4 from deep and a 6-of-11 day at the foul line. Five of her boards came via the offensive glass. She added four assists, five steals, and a pair of blocked shots to her stat line. The next day, Gauldin poured in 20 points in the Quakers 84-57 triumph at Meredith College. She was 7-of-9 from the field and 6-of-8 from the charity stripe in her 20-minute shift. She chipped in one rebound, one assist, four steals, and a blocked shot. For the season, Gauldin leads the ODAC in scoring (15.2), total points scored (167), field goals made (60-of-114), and steals (35). She is second in three-point shooting (44.0%), fourth in free throws made (36-of-57), fifth in field goal shooting (52.6%), and sixth in blocked shots (10).

Terese Greene, Shenandoah, So., Guard
December 12, 2022Greene, a sophomore from Culpeper, Va., helped Shenandoah rattle off two more wins over the past week to extended the Hornets winning streak to four straight games. Greene averaged 15.5 points and 7.0 rebounds while shooting 60.9-percent from the field over the two victories. She opened with 14 points on 6-of-10 from the field in a 78-53 non-conference win at Mt. Aloysius. She added six rebounds, two assists, and three steals in her 24-minute shift. Greene played four fewer minutes but turned up the production in SU's 89-41 triumph over Averett. She registered 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting. She added eight rebounds, three assists, and a steal. For the season, Greene leads the ODAC in scoring (14.1) and field goals made (50-of-117). She is third with 127 total points and seventh with 21 steals.

Madisen Kimble, Shenandoah, Jr., Guard
December 05, 2022Kimble, a junior from Herndon, Va., was strong across the board in helping Shenandoah to a pair of ODAC victories to improve the defending champion Hornets season records to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in ODAC play. Kimble open with 13 points in a 75-53 win at Eastern Mennonite. She was 4-of-8 from the field including 2-of-3 from deep with a 3-for-3 day at the line. She added five rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Kimble then registered career-highs of 23 points and six assists in Shenandoah's 80-48 road win at Lynchburg. She as 8-of-14 from the field with two more made three-pointers. She was 5-of-5 from the stripe and chipped in six rebounds. Her six assists gave her 11 for the week against just one turnover as a primary ball-handler. For the season, Kimble leads the ODAC in scoring (15.0) and assists (30). She is second in three-pointers made (16-of-36) and three-point shooting (44.4%).

Kylie Stark, Randolph, Jr., Guard
November 28, 2022Stark, a junior from Lynchburg, Va., picks up her second weekly award of the season after leading Randolph to a pair of victories including an ODAC triumph over defending conference champion Shenandoah University. Stark opened with 22 points and five steals in a 75-40 victory over Gallaudet. She was 8-of-13 from the field including 2-of-3 from deep. She added two rebounds and two assists in helping the WildCats to their third win of the season. At Shenandoah, Stark notched 11 points with five rebounds and three steals as Randolph recovered late for a 50-46 win over the Hornets. The WildCats led 21-19 at 6:49 of the second of the quarter, but that would be the last time they would enjoy even a tied score until Stark buried a three-pointer to make it 44-44 with 3:58 to go in the final frame. For the season, Stark is averaging an ODAC second-best 13.8 points on a league-high 83 total points. She is first in free throws made (24-of-31) and steals (18), second in field goals made (27-of-68), and fourth in assists (16).

Schleusner averaged a double-double over the two outings beginning with nine points and 12 rebounds in an 83-44 win at Eastern Mennonite. She corralled four of her boards via the offensive glass and added two assists and two blocked shots in a 20-minute shift. Schleusner worked eight more minutes in the Generals 79-72 win at Guilford. She made 7-of-11 shots from the field on the way to 19 points. She added nine rebounds to fall one carom shy of two double-doubles for the week. she added four assists, two steals, and a blocked shot to her line.

Kylie Stark, Randolph, Jr., Guard
November 15, 2022Stark, a junior from Lynchburg, Va., got the season started off on the right foot for preseason second-ranked Randolph in helping the WildCats to a pair of non-conference victories. Stark shook off a 3-for-11 shooting day from the field with an 11-for-11 showing from the foul line in a 68-48 win over Apprentice School. She chipped in 10 rebounds to start the year with a double-double, and added five assists and a pair of steals. Stark got her shooting stroke back in game two with a 6-of-12 effort from the field in an 82-57 win at Salem College. She finished with 15 points and added seven rebounds with another five assists and two steals.
