Randolph-Macon Wins Eighth ODAC Women's Basketball Title

Sophomore Katie Anderson scored 21 points and pulled down eight rebounds in being named Tournament Most Valuable Player as second-seeded Randolph-Macon outscored fourth-seeded Guilford 91-84 Sunday afternoon in the Championship Game of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference at the Salem Civic Center.

Virginia Wesleyan Captures Fifth ODAC Men's Basketball Title

Virginia Wesleyan College and Hampden-Sydney College featured in a showcase of a contest on Sunday afternoon with the Marlins coming out on top, 77-74, to claim its fifth overall ODAC men's basketball title. The Marlins earn their 10th trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament via the league's automatic bid. Pairings for the event will be announced live at 12:30 p.m. Monday on the selection show on NCAA.com.

W&L Men's Hoops Upends Guilford in ODAC Tourney, 77-70

The 11th-seeded Washington and Lee men's basketball team jumped out to a 12-0 lead to start the game and never trailed en route to a 77-70 win over third-seeded Guilford in the quarterfinals of the ODAC Tournament on Friday evening at the Salem Civic Center.

Moore, Woodmore Spark Virginia Wesleyan to Win in ODAC Quarterfinals

Woodmore combined for 45 points in leading second-seeded Virginia Wesleyan College to a 91-70 triumph over seventh-seeded Bridgewater College in the quarterfinals of the ODAC Men's Basketball Tournament on Friday in Salem. The Marlins move on to face 11th-seeded Washington and Lee University in the semifinals on Saturday at 8:00 p.m.

EMU Tops LC, 93-81, in ODAC Quarterfinal Action

Lynchburg Slides Past Roanoke into ODAC Semifinals

Third-seeded Lynchburg College led by as many as 20 points in the second half, but its lead was shaved to three by sixth-seeded Roanoke College before a three-pointer by Charmaine Hairston with 6:41 to play helped the Hornets secure a 68-64 win the ODAC quarterfinals. The Hornets saw their game-winning shot attempt come up short at the buzzer, which secured a 53-52 victory for EMU. The Royals move on to face fourth-seeded Guilford College in the semifinals on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the Salem Civic Center.

Virginia Wesleyan College guard D.J. Woodmore was named the Kurt Axe Memorial Player of the Year by the league's head coaches to lead the 2014 ODAC men's basketball all-conference awards. Randolph-Macon College mentor Nathan Davis was tabbed the Bob Johnson Coach of the Year. VWC guard Khory Moore garnered ODAC Rookie of the Year honors, and Washington and Lee University forward Drew Kimberly was selected as the ODAC/Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete Award recipient.

Roanoke College guard Paxton Gwin headlines the 2014 All-ODAC Women’s Basketball Teams as the Maroons’ standout was tabbed ODAC Player of the Year in a vote of the league’s head coaches. Eastern Mennonite University mentor Kevin Griffin was named the ODAC Coach of the Year, while Bridgewater College forward Heather Cantrell earned ODAC Rookie of the Year accolades. Emory & Henry guard Kristie Langley collected the ODAC/Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor, in a vote of the conference’s sports information directors.
