The Lead: Roanoke sweeps their ODAC rival Lynchburg on Saturday evening. The Maroons jumped on top early in game one by scoring four runs in the bottom of the first to help lead to their 8-5 win. In game two the Maroons gave up one run in the top of the first but responded quickly and finished with a score of 9-1.

Highlights:

• The Maroons quickly got on top in the bottom of the first when Molly Epperson stepped up to the plate with runners on second and third and then singled into right field to bring in the first run. Kate Houle followed with a two-run single up the middle. Lilly Burns hit a double into right center to bring the Maroons up to 4-0.
• Jordyn DiFava drew a walk to start off the bottom of the second and later scored on an error by the catcher.
• With bases loaded in the bottom of the third DiFava singled up the middle to bring in two more runs for the Maroons
• After two scoreless innings the Maroons roped together three singles by Adriana Rivera, Epperson, and Houle to bring in one more run.
• Jada Karnes provided seven strikeouts for the Maroons in game one.
• Rivera went 4-6 between game one and game two.

Highlights:

• Lynchburg took the lead in the first inning in game two but Roanoke responded in the bottom of the first with a sacrifice fly by Houle that brought in a run.
• In the bottom of the second Lauren Hoffman reached first on an error by the shortstop and then advanced to third with two stolen bases. Makayla Austin doubled into right field to plate a run. With Rachel Sirbaugh and Meri Bostic following with two singles Austin was able to score. Serenity Bishop was able to reach first on a fielding error by the shortstop which allowed for two runs to come in bringing the score up to 5-1.
• Morgan Clark led off the bottom of the fourth with a single up the middle which was followed by a single from Rivera to bring in a run. With runners on second and third Hoffman singled into right field to bring in two more runs for the Maroons.
• In the bottom of the fifth with bases loaded Bishop singled up the middle to bring in a run and bring the score to 9-1.
