Courtney Allman, Eastern Mennonite, Sr., Infield
April 22, 2013Allman, a senior from Solon, Va., helped lead Eastern Mennonite to four wins in its 5-1 that included a season-ending sweep of 16th-ranked Lynchburg College to secure a spot in the upcoming ODAC Softball Tournament. Allman went 6-for-13 (.462) with a double, two homers, six runs scored and nine runs batted in. She had at least one hit in each contest, highlighted by two hits and a pair of RBI in game one against LC. She had five RBI in total against the Hornets as she drove in three with a two-run homer in the nightcap. She also had three RBI when she hit three-run shot against Mary Washington to begin the week. For the season, Allman is batting .413 (10th in the ODAC) with eight homers (5th) and 41 runs driven in (5th). She is EMU's career leader in homers, RBI and walks. -
Heather Lewis, Randolph-Macon, Sr., Pitcher
April 22, 2013Lewis, a senior from Glen Allen, Va., went 3-0 on the week with one and nearly a second shutout. She went the distance and then some in all three starts, beginning with a 3-1 triumph over Southern Virginia to begin the week. She gave up one unearned run on seven hits in a full seven innings. She followed that with a five-hit shutout of Shenandoah in a 4-0 Randolph-Macon win. She fanned four and didn't walk a batter in that contest. Her final appearance went extra innings as she worked all nine innings for R-MC's 5-3 win over Roanoke. She gave up three runs on seven hits, walking a pair and fanning two. For the season, Lewis is 19-3, with the 19 wins marking an ODAC-best. She is fourth with a 1.40 earned run average and second with 134.2 innings pitched. In her 20 starts, she has completed 19, tops in the ODAC.

Kimberly Brady, Shenandoah, Fr., Outfielder
April 15, 2013Brady, a freshman from Gainesville, Va., helped the Hornets to a 4-0 week that included sweeps of Stevenson and Emory & Henry. Brady hit .438 on a 7-of-16 showing from the dish with two doubles, three homers and four runs batted in. She also scored five runs. In a doubleheader sweep of Emory & Henry, Brady went 4-for-9 with three homers, four RBI and four runs scored. She had a double in each game against Stevenson, racking up three hits in seven at-bats against the Mustangs. For the season. Brady is hitting .436 with 34 hits in 78 at-bats. She has nine doubles on the season.

Stephanie Clark, Roanoke, Jr., Pitcher
April 15, 2013Clark, a junior from Nathalle, Va., appeared in three games last week, posting a pair of complete game shutouts along the way. She opened the week with a four-hitter in game-one at Randolph. She worked around five walks with a pair of strikeouts in the 6-0 win. She came back with a 4-0 win at Lynchburg in game one. She gave up seven hits and walked one while striking out three. She also recorded the last two LC outs of the bottom of the sixth in a 4-1 game two loss. For the season, Clark is 12-1 with a save and a 2.12 earned run average in 79-1 innings of work. She leads the ODAC with six shutouts and is fourth with 12 complete games.

Cassie Phillips, Lynchburg, Jr., Pitcher
April 08, 2013Phillips, a junior from Ashburn, Va., busted out of a season-long dry spell to help the Hornets to a 6-0 week that included ODAC sweeps of Randolph-Macon and Virginia Wesleyan in addition to a pair of wins over Averett. Phillips had four multi-hit games as she went 10-for-18 (.556) on the week with three homers, four runs scored and eight runs batted in. She went 4-for-7 in 6-1 and 7-6 wins over Averett. In 7-1 and 8-6 wins over R-MC, Phillips went 3-for-5 with a walk and a two-run homer to left field in game two. She provided all but one of LC’s runs in game one against Virginia Wesleyan as she went 2-for-3 with both hits leaving the yard, one a grand slam and the other a solo shot in the 6-1 LC triumph. She added another hit in a 3-2 in game two. Phillips has now hit in eight straight games, helping LC to 13 wins in their last 14 games.

Hope Johnson, Lynchburg, So., Pitcher
April 08, 2013Johnson, a sophomore from Evington, Va., made five appearances for Lynchburg last week, winning three starts and picking up a pair of saves. She surrendered just three total runs and 17 hits in 20.1 innings of work. She opened the week by working five innings in a 6-1 win over Averett. She gave up one run on four hits with one walk and four strikeouts. She came back in game two to fan the final batter of the game and pick up her first save of the season. She went the distance in game one against Randolph-Macon, scattering eight hits and a walk while giving up a run and striking out seven in a full seven innings. Johnson gave up just five hits in seven innings in game one against Virginia Wesleyan, giving up one run and whiffing three in a 6-1 LC win. She pitched a perfect final inning of game two for her second save of the week and season, which leads the ODAC. For the year, Johnson is 10-1 with a 1.63 EAR, fifth-best in the conference.

Tori Higginbotham, Virginia Wesleyan, Jr., Outfielder
April 01, 2013Higginbotham, a junior from Glen Allen, Va., extended her current hitting streak to eight games as she led the Marlins to a 4-0 week with double-header sweeps over Randolph-Macon and Mary Washington. Higginbotham went 7-for-12 on the week with a double, two homers, six runs scored and a pair of runs batted in. she also stole two bases and walked twice. She went 5-for-7 in the twinbill with R-MC, hitting a solo homer in each contest. The two round-trippers give the 2012 NFCA All-American a career-high nine, the second highest single-season total in VWC history. Higginbotham currently leads the ODAC in runs scored (36) and stolen bases (30), while her nine homers are second. She is also second in slugging (.897) and fourth in batting (.471).

MacKenzie Creech, Virginia Wesleyan, Jr., Pitcher
April 01, 2013Creech, a junior from Hillsborough, N.C., appeared in three of the Marlins four games last week, picking up a pair of victories and a save. She opened the week with a scoreless inning to close out a 7-5 win over Randolph-Macon to record her first save of the season. She started and went the distance in game two against Randolph-Macon. She surrendered one run on three hits with one walk in seven full innings. She also fanned three Yellow Jackets. Creech capped her week with her 11th win of the season in an 11-3 victory over Mary Washington. For the week, Creech tossed 11.0 innings and posted a 0.64 earned run average, lowering her season ERA to an ODAC second-best 1.22. Her 11 wins are tied atop the ODAC lists, and she's fourth in both innings pitched (69.0) and strikeouts (54).

Lindsey Inzana, Virginia Wesleyan, Jr., DP
March 25, 2013Inzana, a junior from Chesapeake, Va., went 9-for-14 (.643) in leading Virginia Wesleyan to a 5-0 week. She notched two doubles and three homers while driving in 11 runs and scoring four times. She had two homers and five RBI as part of a 3-for-3 showing in game one against Sweet Briar. She came back with a double and two RBI in both games of a sweep of Shenandoah. She saved her biggest blast for the week's final game against Emory & Henry. Inzana broke an 8-8 tie in the bottom of the sixth with a solo shot for her fourth homer of the year. Inzana is second in the ODAC with 28 RBI and 12th with a .424 batting average.

Heather Jenkins, Bridgewater, Sr., Pitcher
March 25, 2013Jenkins, a senior from Locust Grove, Va., twirled a gem in a 2-0 victory over Randolph College as she was perfect from the circle in retiring 21 straight batters. Jenkins did not give up a run, hit or walk while fanning three in recording the Eagles' second perfect game in program history (Lisa Rhodes in 2004). Jenkins improved to 6-2 on the season, lowering her earned run average to an ODAC fifth-best 1.43 in 54 innings of work. Batters are only hitting .194 against her, also fifth in the conference ranks.

Madison Gilman, Randolph-Macon, Fr., Catcher
March 18, 2013Gilman, a freshman from Glen Allen, Va., helped lead the Yellow Jackets to a 6-0 week by batting .524 with 14 runs batted in. Randolph-Macon posted doubleheader sweeps of Averett, Catholic and Guilford in improving to an ODAC-best 15-2 on the season. Gilman had five multi-hit games in her 11-for-21 week with five doubles. She also had at least one RBI in each contest, with three apiece coming in wins over Averett (9-3), Catholic (6-5) and Guilford (7-0). R-MC's catcher added a pair of stolen bases to her stat line. Gilman is batting .449 on the season. She is tied for the league-lead in doubles (7) and runs batted in (25). Her eight hit-by-pitches also top the conference, aiding her to a .525 on-base percentage (7th).

Stephanie Cameron, Shenandoah, Jr., Pitcher
March 18, 2013Cameron, a junior from Ocala, Fla., made six appearances for Shenandoah last week, all starts covering 32.0 innings of work. She allowed only 13 hits with six walks, while fanning 42 batters. She posted an earned run average of 0.66. Of the 13 runs she gave up, only three were earned. Cameron went 4-1 with a save, posting a pair of complete games. She struck out nine in a 6-3 win over York (Pa.), and followed with eight strike outs apiece in her next three starts in victories over Sweet Briar (14-0), Castleton (13-2) and Randolph (4-3). In her remaining start, Cameron threw 10 innings and surrendered six runs (two earned) on four hits with three walks and six strike outs in a 6-5 loss to Lynchburg. Earlier in the week, she picked up her first save of the season with three innings of relief in a 5-3 win in game two over York. For the season, Cameron owns a 9-2 record. She leads the ODAC in innings pitched (74.0), ERA (0.85) and strike outs (83).

Ashley Ebersole, Emory & Henry, Sr., Catcher
March 11, 2013Ebersole, a senior from Maurertown, Va., had an explosion of power during the Wasps' 5-3 spring break trip. She posted a 1.500 slugging percentage as she belted four doubles and six home runs on the way to driving in 20 runs. She had a pair of grand slams in a 22-0 thumping of Penn St.-Fayette, finishing that game 4-for-4 with four runs scored, a double and eight RBI in addition to the duo of four-run blasts. Ebersole hit safely in all eight games, posting three multi-hit contests. She also had a double-homer game in a 10-0 win over Green Mountain. On the week, Ebersole hit .583 (14-of-24) with 13 runs scored and a .607 on-base percentage.

Jordan Aylor, Eastern Mennonite, So., Pitcher
March 11, 2013Aylor, a sophomore from Madison, Va., picked up the wins in each of her three starts while also making a scoreless relief appearance. Aylor opened with a five-inning complete game win in an 11-0 triumph over Southern Virginia. She gave up two hits and fanned five without surrendering a walk. She tossed 1.2 innings of hitless relief in the second game against the Knights. Against Hunter, Aylor got the win in a six-inning 11-3 win. She gave up four hits and three unearned runs while fanning six and walking one in the complete game effort. Aylor followed that by helping to hand #18 Salisbury its first loss of the year in a 6-1 EMU victory. She went seven complete, scattering seven hits and givign up one run while walking a pair. For the week, Aylor notched a 0.36 ERA in 19.2 innings of work. She is now 4-1 on the season.

Courtney Bogan, Virginia Wesleyan, Fr., Outfielder
March 04, 2013Bogan, a freshman from Round Hill, Va., helped Virginia Wesleyan to a 6-0 week that included a four-game sweep at the Beach Blast Tournament last week as she had hits in 10-of-15 at bats (.667). She opened with a 1-for-2 effort in a sweep of Averett University (5-0, 3-2) prior to the tournament. She began Blast-play with a two-run double in a 9-0 win over Neumann College, and then went 2-for-2 with a triple in a 9-1 win over Bethany. Bogan capped her weekend with a pair of 3-for-4 efforts in wins over Rutgers-Camden (9-1) and SUNY Old Westbury (7-3). She belted a pair of triples and homerun while driving in two runs against Rutgers-Camden. Bogan recorded six RBI in total, also scoring nine runs over the half-dozen contests.

Stephanie Cameron, Shenandoah, Jr., Pitcher
March 04, 2013Cameron, a junior from Ocala, Fla., went 2-1 for the Hornets, firing a trio of seven inning complete efforts. She scattered 10 hits and walked three while giving up just one run in a 2-1 win over Mary Washington. She fanned 10 in a four-hit shutout of Neumann on Friday, and finished the week with a 4-3 loss to Methodist in which just one of the four runs she surrendered were earned. Cameron struck out 17 batters on the week while giving up five runs (two earned) on 21 hits in 21 innings. Cameron is 3-1 on the season with a 1.00 earned run average in 28.0 innings pitched.

Sarah Cutright, Guilford, Sr., Catcher/Infield
February 25, 2013Cutright, a senior from Roanoke, Va., started off the season in solid fourth as she went 7-for-9 and reached base three other times via walks in the Quakers' 4-0 week. She had four extra-base hits in her seven knocks, including a double in the first, third and fourth games. She added a home run in the second game of the week. Cutright scored three times and drove in five more runs, posting an .847 on-base percentage and 1.444 slugging percentage over the four contests. She also stole a base as Guilford swept series with William Peace and Gwynedd-Mercy.

Casey Snead, Guilford, Fr., Pitcher
February 25, 2013Snead, a freshman from Ellerbe, N.C., went 1-0 with a save in a 4-0 week for the Quakers. She entered with two outs and the bases loaded in the fifth inning against William Peace, but struck out the batter she faced to get out of the jam. She ended up finishing that game, allowing four hits and fanning two, to earn the save. In her first collegiate start, Snead fanned a school-record 16 Griffins in Guilford's 8-1 win over Gwynedd-Mercy. She went all seven innings, surrendering one run on three hits while walking three. The 16 punchouts eclipsed the record of 15 set by Jessica Burcham in 2011.

Kelly Keys, Virginia Wesleyan, Jr., 2nd Base
February 18, 2013Keys, a junior from Manassas, Va., started off the season with four hits in her first six at bats to help the Marlins to a season-opening sweep of Meredith. In game one, she went 1-for-3 in an 8-2 win, but then followed that with a 3-for-3 showing with a double and five runs batted in towards an 11-1 triumph. She also scored a run in the latter contest.

Logan Carter, Randolph, Jr., Pitcher
February 18, 2013Carter, a junior from Richmond, Va., picked up her first win of the 2013 season as she tossed a complete-game to defeat Averett, 2-1. Carter game up one run (earned) on four hits while walking one and fanning three. The win helped the WildCats to a season opening split with the Cougars.
