Sarah Cutright, Guilford, Sr., Catcher/Infield

Cutright, a senior from Roanoke, Va., started off the season in solid fourth as she went 7-for-9 and reached base three other times via walks in the Quakers' 4-0 week.  She had four extra-base hits in her seven knocks, including a double in the first, third and fourth games.  She added a home run in the second game of the week.  Cutright scored three times and drove in five more runs, posting an .847 on-base percentage and 1.444 slugging percentage over the four contests.  She also stole a base as Guilford swept series with William Peace and Gwynedd-Mercy.

Softball Player Honor Roll

Melanie Lamb, Bridgewater (Va.) - (Sr, 3B - Ruckersville, Va., 17)
Lamb helped Bridgewater to a 2-2 start to the season at the 3N2 Invitational in Atlanta.  She went 8-for-12 with two doubles, two RBI and run scored.  She opened the season with a 4-for-4 day in a 6-1 win over Mississippi College, and had two hits in three tries in a 5-0 loss to Emory.  She also walked twice on the week.

Michaela Munday, Lynchburg - (Jr, C - Yorktown, VA, 12)
Munday was 4-for-7 for the week, with a double and four runs scored. she slugged .714 and threw out the only baserunner that attempted to steal on her.  She had a double among her two hits in a 9-0 win over Case Western Reserve.

Alea Bier, Roanoke - (Sr, - Bent Mountain, VA, 4)
Bier reached base nine times over the Maroons' 4-0 start.  She went 3-for-6 with six walks, accounting for a .750 on-base percentage.  She scored seven runs and score three bases as RC swept Greensboro (4-1, 5-2) and defeated Messiah (6-0) and William Peace (8-0).

Morgan Coble, Shenandoah - (Jr, OF - Phillipsburg, Pa., 4)
Coble went 4-for-6 with two doubles, two runs scored and a pair of RBI in a 1-1 week for the Hornets.  She went 3-for-4 in game two against Averett, a 9-2 win for SU.
