
STAUNTON, Va. - The Mary Baldwin men's soccer team improved to 2-2-1 on the season with a 1-0 victory Saturday over Ferrum College.
Mary Baldwin senior midfielder Alexis Barba scored the winning goal Saturday afternoon when he kicked a quick goal from outside the penalty box 12 minutes into the game to lift the Fighting Squirrels to a 1-0 lead.
Ferrum held a slight edge in shots 16-14 and in corners 6-3. However MBU keeper Justin Almond had a season-high seven saves to keep the lead for the Squirrels.
