Squirrels Drop Game at Bridgewater

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Mary Baldwin baseball traveled to play Bridgewater College on Tuesday, losing by a score of 20-5.

Mary Baldwin fell behind the early lead by surrendering eight8 runs in the first two innings before scoring two of their own in the third. Brady Ward was hit by a pitch to lead off the third and Noah Kessler followed with a single. Micheal Barber's RBI-single put Kessler on third and Dylan Rankin added a sac fly to make pull MBU to within 8-2.

The Eagles scored four more in the bottom of the third and four more in the sixth to break the game open. 

The Squirrels scored two runs in the eighth. A leadoff walk by Webster was followed by a Ward single and an error on the hit allowed both runners to advance to scoring position. Tyler Morley's ground out plated one run Barber singled for his second RBI on the day. The Squirrels scored itheir final run in the ninth when Blake French reached on a fielding error and Tyler Smith followed with a run-scoring double.

MBU is back in action Saturday (March18) when the Squirrels travel to Greensboro, N.C., to face Greensboro College in a doubleheader.
