LYNCHBURG, Va. - Mary Baldwin dropped an 8-1 decision Sunday afternoon to the Lynchburg Hornets in women's tennis action.

Mary Baldwin scored its lone point when Liz Wine won her match at No. 6 singles by a score of 6-4, 6-4.

MBU's Lauren Hodgkins took her opponent to the limit, falling in split sets to Lynchubrg's Jordan Ottaviano at No. 5 singles. Hodgkins dropped the first set 6-2 but battled back to even the match by taking the second set 6-4. The players played a tiebreaker to determine the third set with Hodgkins coming up just short, dropping the tiebreaker by a 10-8 margin.

Mary Baldwin returns to the courts Tuesday when the Squirrels host Bridgewater.
