UMW Volleyball Sweeps William Peace, Lynchburg to Improve to 8-3

The University of Mary Washington volleyball team swept a pair of 3-0 decisions, over William Peace University and the University of Lynchburg, on Saturday at Ron Rosner Arena. The Eagles topped William Peace, 25-17, 25-18, 25-15, and then swatted the Hornets, 25-21, 25-14, 25-20. UMW improves to 8-3 overall.

In the win over William Peace, junior Jordan Lyons paced the Eagles with 15 kills and 15 digs, while Chloe Crosen added 10 kills, and Dani Molina Otero six. Sophomore Lauren Foley scored 18 assists and junior Brenna Campbell added 14, and junior Dakota Hansen led UMW with 20 digs. 

In the win over Lynchburg, senior Krista Rodgers scored 15 kills against one error in 26 attempts, and Lyons added 14 kills to go along with 15 digs. Campbell posted 21 assists and Foley 20, and Hansen scored 20 digs, with Hannah Livermon also reaching double figures with 10. Caitlyn Burch notched three block assists.

UMW will return to action on Wednesday when they visit McDaniel College at 7:00 p.m.
