Amanda Theall, Shenandoah, Senior
February 18, 2013Theall, a senior from Blossvale, N.Y., was named the Athlete of the Meet after winning the shot put and weight throw competitions at the 2013 Mason-Dixon Indoor Championships. Theall fired the shot put 11.54 meters (37' 10.5") to take over the second spot on the ODAC's season-best list. She then heaved the weight at 15.24 meters (50' 00"), coming up eight inches short of the conference's top mark, which she already owns. -
Randy Lott, Virginia Wesleyan, Jr.
February 18, 2013Lott, a junior from Virginia Beach, Va., won the 60-meter dash at the 2013 Mason-Dixon Indoor Championships with a time of 6.98, tying the ODAC top time he established earlier this season. Lott also placed fifth in the 200-meter dash with a VWC record time of 22.86, breaking the former record of 22.88 set by Jason Taylor in 2009. That stands as the fastest time in the ODAC this season. Lott also ran a leg on the 4x400-meter relay team that finished second with a VWC record time of 3:27.31, breaking the former mark of 3:28.31. That time is second-best in the ODAC and qualified the Marlins for the Penn Relays.

Alexis Janney, Roanoke, Freshman
February 11, 2013Janney, a freshman from Daleville, Va., won a pair of individual events and was part of the Maroons' winning 4x400-meter relay team at the Susquehanna Invitational hosted by Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pa. In the 200-meter dash, Janney set a new ODAC top time by crossing the line in 26.75 seconds. She added a win in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.13 seconds, third-best in the conference. Janney was joined by teammates Alease Kinney, Jessica Mejia, and Carmen Graves in posting a time of 4:03.02 to win the 4x400-meter relay

Tom Sippie, Lynchburg, Freshman
February 11, 2013Sippie, a freshman from Toms River, N.J., put together a pair of solid performances at the Lafayette/Rider Winter Games at The Armory in New York City. Sippie record a pair of ODAC season-best times while placing in the top-five amongst NCAA Division III competition. In the 200-meter dash, he posted a time of 22.95 seconds to finish 10th overall and third amongst D-III runners. He followed that with a time of 50.70 seconds in the 400-meter dash, placing sixth overall and second versus D-III competitors.

Jessica Mejia, Roanoke, Sophomore
February 04, 2013Mejia, a sophomore from Centerville, Va., led all NCAA Division III athletes in the 200-meter dash at the Hilton Garden Inn in Winston-Salem, N.C. She posted a time of 27.07, which is currently the third-best time in the conference. Later in the day, Mejia ran the third leg of the Maroons' 4x400-meter relay team consisting of Alease Kinney, Lexie Janney and Carmen Graves. Mejia's personal-best 59-second split helped RC to a final time of 4:58.70, which is tops in the conference and eighth in the country.

Luke Sohl, Bridgewater, Sophomore
February 04, 2013Sohl, a sophomore from Burke, Va., put together a strong performance at the Armory Collegiate Invitational in New York City. On the first day, he and teammates Nevin Heckman, Sam Gunther and Tim Wisniewski posted a time of 10:17.20 to snap the ODAC record in the distance medley relay by more than nine seconds. Sohl ran a 4:18 mile split as the team's effort established a new BC record in the process. On the following day, Sohl was the top non-NCAA Division I finisher (11th overall) in the 5,000-meter run as his time of 14:55.57 is the lone sub-15 minute time in the conference this season. Sohl's time broke the previous Bridgewater record held by Nathan Rittenhouse by more than 21 seconds.

Randy Lott, Virginia Wesleyan, Jr.
January 28, 2013Lott, a junior from Virginia Beach, Va., set the Virginia Wesleyan College record in the 60-meter dash as he became the first Marlin to eclipse the 7.00-second barrier. He was the first NCAA Division III finisher and fourth overall in the event at the Liberty Open, posting an ODAC-seasonal top time of 6.98 seconds. That is currently tied for 14th in the country. Lott also placed fourth in the 200-meter dash in 23.19, just 0.03 short of his conference-leading time.

Jillian Katterhagen, Washington and Lee, So.
January 28, 2013Katterhagen, a sophomore from The Woodlands, Texas., was one of six event winners for the Generals as they won the Denison Lid-Lifter with 163 points over host school Denison University. Katterhagen won the pole vault competition and set a new Washington and Lee record by clearing 3.36 meters (11' 00.25"), which eclipsed the record of 11-feet set by Liz Brandler in 2005. The mark is tops in the South/Southeast Region so far this season, let alone in the ODAC. Katterhagen also finished third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.80 seconds, good for the third-best mark in the conference listings.

Carmen Graves, Roanoke, Senior
January 21, 2013Graves, a senior from Christiansburg, Va., opened the new year of competition by defeating NCAA Division I and II competition to win the 800-meter run at the Niswonger Invitational hosted by East Tennessee State University. She completed the even in 2:09.99 (converted to 2:11.49 for track size), which stands as the top ODAC time in the event this season. She ranks #2 in the NCAA Division III following this weekend's action. Graves went on to anchor the Maroons 4x400-meter relay team, which clocked in at 3:57.68 (converted to 4:00.84 for track size). The Maroons are currently fifth in the country in the event.

Andris Goncarovs, Guilford College, Junior
January 21, 2013Goncarovs, a junior from Ithaca, N.Y., ran the ODAC's fastest time in the 3,000 meters this season at the Winston-Salem State Open. He posted a time of 9:02.40 to finish fifth at the meet among 20 runners and tops among NCAA Division III competition. His time ranks fourth in Guilford history. Goncarovs also anchored the Quakers' distance medley relay, which turned in the ODAC's second-fastest time of the year at 10:57.33. It's the time is third-fastest in school history and stands 30th in NCAA Division III this year.

Janey Fugate, Washington and Lee, So.
January 14, 2013Fugate, a sophomore from Atlanta, Ga., notched a pair of event wins at the Marietta Ice Breaker on Saturday, helping lead the Generals to a third-place finish at the event. She won the 500-meter run with a school-record time of 1:21.75. She went on to cross first in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.51 (converted to 10.23 for 60-meter standards; fifth in ODAC).

Agustin Kim, Washington and Lee, Jr.
January 14, 2013Kim, a junior from La Harba, Calif., had two top performances at the Marietta Ice Breaker on Saturday, helping lead the Generals to a third-place finish at the event. He won the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.61 (converted to 7.11 for 60-meter standards; 2nd in ODAC). He then took the top spot in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.56, which places him third in the ODAC so far this season.

James Winkey, Virginia Wesleyan, Freshman
December 10, 2012Winkey, a freshman from Fredericksburg, Va., set a pair of school records in his first college outing at the CNU Holiday Open. Winkey finished 14th overall and was the second-highest placed NCAA Division III competitor in the high jump as he cleared 1.85 meters (6' 0.75"), breaking the record of 5'10" set by James Klink in 2005 and tied by David Paco in 2008. That mark is the second-best in the ODAC this season. Winkey also set the VWC long jump record on his very first leap as a Marlin. He hurdled himself 6.63 meters (21' 9") to place 12th overall and first among D-III athletes. His effort broke the record of 21' 6.75" set by Okechi Hamilton in 2007. Winkey's jump is second longest in the ODAC this season.

Charnell Adkins, Virginia Wesleyan, Junior
December 10, 2012Adkins, a junior from Richmond, Va., opened the 2012-13 season by lowering her own school-record in the 60-meter dash at the CNU Holiday Open over the weekend. Adkins sprinted to a time of 8.27 seconds, besting her previous mark by .13 seconds. She was the top NCAA Division III finisher in the race (39th overall), and her time is the fifth-fastest in the ODAC so far this season.

Carmen Graves, Roanoke, Senior
December 03, 2012Graves, a senior from Christiansburg, Va., picked up right where she left off last season, although her success came in a new event at the Liberty Kickoff this weekend. In her first ever start in the 3000-meter run, Graves won the event with a time of 10:15.98, finishing better than 30 seconds faster than the second-place runner. Her time was also just off the school record held by previous national champion, Casey Smith.

Rachad Davis, Lynchburg, Junior
December 03, 2012Davis, a junior from Virginia Beach, Va., started off the 2012-13 season with a pair of strong performances at the Liberty Kickoff over the weekend. Davis was the first NCAA Division III finisher in both the 60-meter hurdles and the 200-meter dash in a meet that included a mix of NCAA Division I, II and III competitors. After qualifying fourth in the preliminaries, Davis finished third overall in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.51. In the 200-dash, Davis set a personal indoor-best with a time of 23.33.
