Mejia, a sophomore from Centerville, Va., led all NCAA Division III athletes in the 200-meter dash at the Hilton Garden Inn in Winston-Salem, N.C. She posted a time of 27.07, which is currently the third-best time in the conference. Later in the day, Mejia ran the third leg of the Maroons' 4x400-meter relay team consisting of Alease Kinney, Lexie Janney and Carmen Graves. Mejia's personal-best 59-second split helped RC to a final time of 4:58.70, which is tops in the conference and eighth in the country.

Jolee Paden, Eastern Mennonite - (Fr.,
Distance - St. Joseph, Ill.)
Paden had a hand in two new EMU records at the Hilton Garden
Invitational. In the 5000-meter run, she crossed with a time of
18:45.97, breaking the EMU record by nearly three seconds. Her time
also gave her the third-best mark in the ODAC this season. In the
distance medley relay, Paden was part of a team which also took
down an EMU mark, combining for a time of 13:17.28. That was nearly
four seconds better than the previous record.
Aleshia Washington, Lynchburg College - (So., -
Virginia Beach, Va.)
Washington captured the 55-meter race in a career-best 7.53
at the Marietta Open Friday. Washington was also part of the LC
4x200-meter relay team that set a new school record by one
one-hundredth of a second with a time of 1:48.25 to capture the top
spot.
