Katterhagen, a sophomore from The Woodlands, Texas., was one of six event winners for the Generals as they won the Denison Lid-Lifter with 163 points over host school Denison University. Katterhagen won the pole vault competition and set a new Washington and Lee record by clearing 3.36 meters (11' 00.25"), which eclipsed the record of 11-feet set by Liz Brandler in 2005. The mark is tops in the South/Southeast Region so far this season, let alone in the ODAC. Katterhagen also finished third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.80 seconds, good for the third-best mark in the conference listings.
ODAC Women's Indoor Track Weekly Honor Roll
Kristen Trice, Bridgewater (Va.) -
(Fr., Jumps - Glen Allen, Va.)
Trice was the Eagles top performer at the Liberty Open as she
placed fifth in the triple jump (35' 02.00"), sixth in the high
jump (5' 01.00") and 14th in the long jump (15' 08.50"). She
was the top NCAA D-III finisher in the triple.
Hannah Chappell-Dick, Eastern Mennonite - (Fr.,
Distance - Bluffton, OH)
Chappell-Dick snapped two more EMU records after setting one in
last week's competition. She was the top collegiate finisher
in the in the mile run with a time of 5:12.89, good enough for tops
in the ODAC and 35th in the country. It also broke her own
record by more than 12 seconds. In the 3000-meter run,
Chappell-Dick ran an EMU record 10:48.48 as the top D-III finisher,
ranking third in the ODAC this season.
Rebecca Reyna, Guilford College - (Fr. - Liberty,
N.C.)
Reyna ran the ODAC's 15th-fastest time in the 800-meter run
at the Liberty Open in 2:39.71. She was 27th in the 29-woman
field and ninth among Division III runners. Her time ranks
second in school history. She also anchored the Quakers'
4x400-meter relay team that smashed the school record with a time
of 4:43.65. Guilford finished 11th in the race, second among
Division III entries.
Candice Hairston, Lynchburg
College - (Jr., Midlothian, Va.)
Hairston set a personal-best in the triple jump at the Liberty
Open as she leapt to a distance of 34' 00.75". She placed
seventh overall and third among NCAA D-III athletes. Hairston
also jumped 16' 07.00" in the long jump to place seventh.
Alease Kinney, Roanoke
College - (Fr., Richmond, Va.)
Kinney posted a time of 8.22 seconds in the 60-meter dash at the
Liberty Open, tops amongst D-III runners and fifth-best in the ODAC
this season. She also posted an ODAC-leading time of 1:00.1
in the 400-meter dash, placing third overall.
Amanda Theall,
Shenandoah - (Sr., Throws - Blossvale, N.Y.)
Theall won the weight throw with a toss of 15.44 meters at the
Thompson Invitational hosted by the University of Delaware.
She also placed 14th in the shotput with a heave of 10.65
meters.
Shelby Bryceland, Virginia Wesleyan - (SR, Distance
- Virginia Beach)
Byrceland continued to post her name in the VWC record as she
stopped the watches in 18:40.38 to reset her own record and with
the 5000-meter run at the Liberty Open. She set the school
record in the 3000-meter run the week before.. Her 5000-meter
time is the second faster in the ODAC and 40th-best in the NCAA
D-III this season.
