Women's Tennis improves to 10-2 on the season with 8-1 victory over Sweet Briar (Va.) on Spring Break trip

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team posted an 8-1 victory over Sweet Briar (Va.) on Tuesday morning at Palmetto Dunes.
The Polar Bears improve to 10-2 on the season, while the Vixens fall to 3-3.
Freshmen Ashley Ochsenhirt (Birmingham, Ala./Briarwood Christian) and Katherine Curry (Oxford/Talawanda) posted 6-0, 6-0 singles wins to lead ONU.
Ohio Northern swept the three doubles courts to take an early 3-0 lead.
Christina Corbean (Dayton/Oakwood) and senior Brittany Toney (Greenwood, Ind.) won 8-2 at No. 1 doubles, freshmen Mackenzie Wills (Ada) and Ola Latala (Grosse Ile, Mich.) won 8-1 at No. 2 doubles and Curry and junior Kirsten Adamson (DuBois, Pa./DuBois Area) won 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, Ochsenhirt and Curry won at Nos. 1 and 6 singles.
Latala also won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles, Corbean won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles and Wills won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5 singles.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Tuesday with matches against Albion (Mich.) and North Carolina Wesleyan in Hilton Head.
