HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. — Freshman Patrick Moran (Austin, Tex./Bowie) recorded his first career hat trick to lead the Ohio Northern men's lacrosse team in a 13-8 loss at Hampden-Sydney (Va.) on Sunday afternoon at Everett Stadium.
Moran scored the first four goals of his collegiate career to account for half of the goals for the Polar Bears (1-2 overall).
The Tigers improve to 4-2.
His first goal tied the game at 1-1 with 11:59 left in the half.
HSU would score the next three goals before Moran and sophomore Max Weese (Columbus/Hilliard Darby) would bring ONU within 4-3 with 4:13 left in the half.
The Tigers would score the game's next seven goals to extend their advantage to 11-3 with 6:22 left in the third period.
But the Polar Bears would roar back with five straight goals themselves to pull within 11-8 with 6:16 to go in the game.
HSU would put the game away with goals with 4:07 and 1:42 left to play.
